BBHuey4213Just curious: if I have a runesocketed sword with, say, 2 days left on it and decide to change swords for a few days, does the 'timer' freeze on the socketed sword until I switch back to that sword or does it keep going while the sword is in the inventory?

RaymondLast Edited November 30th 2014 at 4:27 PM the timer goes on of course, otherwise that would be a way to use a rune forever or for as long as possible. i.e. if it were frozen then one could use their rune while whacking and use some other empty sword overnight.
The Devs thought of every way someone could try to exploit them. p.s. why don't you check for yourself? |

BBHuey4213Gosh - thought posting the question here *was* a way to "check for myself". Was asking not because I was looking for a way to 'exploit' anything but because I simply wanted to know; I ocassionally change swords without taking the runes into consideration and figured seeking out an answer before I inadvertently wasted a rune might be prudent.

MiserableFailure ManYou made a good choice BBHuey4213, by asking. Sorry if Raymond seemed like he was being rude. Testing it just to find out would be bad in this case and I understand about wanting to change decoration sometimes with the swords.

RaymondLast Edited November 30th 2014 at 8:20 PM testing it would be bad? how? everyone I know tested it for themselves when runesocketing first came out. One simply records the current time and the current time left on the 3 runes in the current sword, then swap with any other sword for say 5 minutes or an hour or whatever, then resockets the regular sword and look at the time left on its runes. simple.
eunes do not 'get lost' or anything like that, other then when they run out of time. so checking is perfectly safe. I'll add here that the Developers also thought of that and to have runes get lost simply for changing swords would be a bad thing. |

BBHuey4213@MiserableFailure Man: Thanks for the kind words. My online time is usually kinda limited plus I admittedly am not intimately familiar with all the intricacies of the game, and finally decided to start spending time checking out the forum and occassionally even seek out answers to some of my questions. Most of the time it's a positive experience and folks offer helpful answers and advice - which is what I presumed the forum was for - but the doses of snark that sometimes pop up are definitely off-putting...
