I spend a fair amount of time designing and decorating at my ranch. Today, I was thinking about the space of land behind the ranch house. there is not much you can do with it, since much of it is lost behind the ranch house wall. I was thinking though, in a design sense, that it might be used more interestingly, if it was not just dead space behind the house and could be incorporated a little better into designing and decorating the ranch.
If we had the addition of 'french doors' or a 'patio' type door that are not exit functional, but just design functional, it may add to how people will think of using that space.
On that note, the addition of a couple of types of windows might be very cool also, to give the illusion that the back wall is not just a solid chunk of wood. I mean who builds a house with a giant beautiful water scene in the back yard, and blocks out the view completely by not adding windows?
