is there a reason that the guard you ask to equip runes displays a list of totally unidentified runes? I.E. You have to hover your mouse over each and every one to find a specific one.
every other place that runes are displayed, the inventory, the alchemy shop stations, all have the name and type of each and every rune without you having to look at each and every one.

feeling like a broken record here, but the equipping place is perhaps the oe place where you do not want to spend 10 minutes finding a sppecific rune.
