I told people in chat as early as Friday evening that I thought it would take 7-8 days based on my past experience and drop rate so far. they didn't believe me.
i.e. twice as long or nearly so, 8 puzzles 49 pieces each should only take me 4 days worst case.

oh, and guess what, not all are sized 49, 2'nd in 3'rd field is 56. And NO I DO NOT have all those puzzles done, 3 puzzles done in 3 days, I have 1 puzzle in each of the first 3 fields done, and 1 puzzle in each of the first 3 fields not done. on purpose.

I'm using rhino at max and top 3 puzzle trinkets,i get 1 puzzles done a day...I luckily had a lot of call a friends so I was half way done on saturady, I only get on once a day and the only extra energy I use is the blue packs, besides the call a friends on the weekends...you can make some puzzle runes if you want to get done quicker

and puzzle rates as low as this might be the new norm. random is as random does. p.s. I have had prior experience where puzzle pets seem to make puzzle drop rates even less then normal rather then more then normal. not so sure about runes for puzzles pr trinkets for puzzles (mostly cause those are so small in effect anyway)

oh, if my speaking fact based quantifiable historical numbers instead of a vague "seems to be really low" is deemed condescending, then I'll be condescending forever, thank you very much.

I hate to say this but I just finished the current nates quest in 4 days not 7-8 days like raymond says, its just a matter of equipping the right trinkets and also equipping a pet which does puzzle too , it is possible I did

and anyone who knows me knows that I do the hermits quest every say no matter what it is, and it's been a full bar plus 10-15 small packs drain a lot recently away from the flux and this Nate adventure.

Part of what may be causing a low rate of drop in the puzzle pieces, may be attributed to more than just which trinkets and pets you have equipped, but may also be attributed to how many quests you have open.

Think about it, if you have open all of your daily quests, not including any fishing quests or any of the Amicus Island or Hermit quests, you are decreasing the odds that bushes and monsters will drop puzzle pieces. If each bush and monster is meant to drop nothing, coins, fruit, mana, power, a puzzle piece, or a quest item, if you have 'X' number of quests open that require you to collect items from bushes, you have just increased the number of possibilities of what comes from a bush from seven items to 7+X, narrowing the possibilities that any one item dropped would be a puzzle piece.
