Raymondin my spam folder but states the following totally unbelievable thing:
Stay in touch with Bush Whacker 2! New Canadian Federal Legislation comes into effect on July 1, 2014, which will change the way you receive email and other electronic messages from Bush Whacker 2. The law requires that we obtain express consent in order to send messages about events and promotions. This will affect your ability to receive Weekly Bonus emails from Bush Whacker 2. If you would like to continue to receive emails from Bush Whacker 2 please click the link below. I suggest nobody click that link |

jpl77I never got an email notification and I'm Canadian. You'd think they would make a forum post or in game pop up.

MTRaymond, why would you give faulty legal advice to strangers?
I'm dual US/Canadian Jason, maybe that's why I got it. I simply clicked through to renew my email subscription. It's not exactly unheard of. |

Kittychix (Chloe)Anti-spam Federal legislation has passed in Canada and goes into effect July 1st that states that a Canadian company must gain explicit (not implied) consent from individuals, in order to contact them.
Players who normally recieve our BW2 email were therefore sent the message, regardless of where they are located. |

RaymondLast Edited June 30th 2014 at 10:26 AM thanks for the explanation.
my main objection to the ridiculousness of it was the implied haste that HAD to be immediately acted on, just the kind of thing that gets people screwed if they do so on all other similar things. And just days, or weeks after dozens of people 'mysteriously' had their facebook name changed to unblock goverment (yes thats the spelling) the fact that it goes into effect tomorrow and I got that email yesterday was glaringly like all other spams and phising attempts. Way to go to implement an anti spam law, your country must be taking assistance from the playbook of mr obama. p.s. I never NEVER click on any link in an email, no matter what the status bar says cause that's so easy to fake with a little code. I'll only ever go to a link if I see that link in plain text that i can copy and paste into perhaps even a different browser in incognito mode on a different computer (possibly having written it down on paper)... oh, and don't ever use url shorteners as I'll never go to one of those no matter what. p.s. anyone else actually reading the law will know that you have 3 three whole years in which to have the implied consent changed to expressed consent. but can you please verify that my explicit setting in facebook (but I guess not everyone in the game is on fb) is actually expressed, not implied, consent cause I had to make that setting. |

Shel WhitmanI always check spam before clearing but your emails have always gone to my inbox folder. If it's remotely possible to resend I would appreciate it :)

Joe Gosselinhere's some information about the legislature:
http://www.cfib-fcei.ca/english/article/6362-anti-spam-release.html as a citizen/customer i find it for one the rare time the legislation are on our side, unwanted email are a real pledge and cause lot of waste of time either in business work or home usage. Some business are literally spammer with email communication (not the case of DJ Arts here with 1 email/week with occasionnal survey, that's just fine.) |
