I went to the island yesterday and got the quests for Lobster traps, bottles and fishing. The only one I could complete was the fishing. All objects that are collectible, (shells, trash, coconuts, bottles and traps are gone). I tried going back to town and back but nothing. So I turned off everything, and turned my computer back on this morning. I just tried to go finish the quests, and there is still nothing. Anyone have this problem? Any ideas?

when it says 'reconnect' instead of having the chat bar with the i for changing rooms and such then none of the 'collectable' quests like that will work. You have to 'be connected'.

something at your end prevented that. I usually just click reconnect and all is well, but sometimes I have to exit and come back in again. And even less often I have to close the browser and relaunch that, I use firefox and occasionally HAVE to launch it in safe-mode (restart with add ons disabled).

can never figure out what causes it. it happens rarely on my netbook, a little more often on my laptop which is a better computer, never on my tower, and always on certain other computers I use in other locations.

Thanks Raymond, I will try that. This is the first time it has happened for me.

I figured it out. I had closed the browser and left for several hours, came back to the same thing. Then I went in and cleared my browser history and went back in. I had been on the lsland, so I left and went back and everything was as it should be.

Still having problems. I am just ignoring the island. I have 3 open quests on there, but I am not going to try anymore. I am also ignoring the Old Hermit. Just too hard to walk all the way there, then back to the field I am working. I am in the swamp now. Also, while I am complaining. The St Patricks Day event. Finding the leprechauns is taking forever. I am down to the last one. I can't see how I am going to finish this and be done before the event ends. The fact that some of the leprechauns you catch give you nothing and you don't get items other than by catching them I don't see how people are getting done with this.

You don't have to walk anywhere, there is a map to get around, try the globe shaped icon. I can't believe you don't know of that.

As for the Hermits, many people stop doing it, mostly because of the extraordinary amounts of energy needed to do many of the quests there that could be used elsewhere. I do it because I am 'done' and figure its a nice distraction from the relative tedium of the flux. Boy would I hate to have to walk there something like 30 squares between.

As for Amicus, if you want to get those quests out of your quest bar then you will have to bear it. I find that the island works extraordinarily better on some computers, even those at a public library are better then some that I have to use. It is unfortunate that the Developers don't seem to care about the massive problems on that 'beta' island that just make many people forever give up on.

Thanks Raymond. I don't think I knew I could use the map to get to the hermit's place. I kept hoping they would put a transporter somewhere to go there. LOL. I was on here last night looking at help screens. It said to use a different browser like Firefox or Chrome (I am already using Chrome) or it could be my firewall and if so that I needed to set an exception for their website. Well, I use McAfee and there is no place to set up exceptions.

Van, please submit a support ticket with regards to the Amicus issues, and we'll see if we can't work through the McAffee stuff.
