Raymondno you are not the only one, but the problem is at the end of the connection at your computer. i.e. some kind of configuration issue with your browser (try other browsers), or your firewall, or your cable modem or router.
I have tried to find a common situation, to help ti developers disseminate the info, when I come across the issue on perhaps a dozen of the couple hundred different computers I use to go online during any given month. But have never found a root thing in common, and in many cases I do not have administrator privileges so I can't test out any hypothesis. in a few cases its actually their servers, but very rarely. That seems more likely to prevent the normal game chat from working and not amicus. in a few other cases just reloading, or exiting the island and coming back sometimes fixes it. |

Kittychix (Chloe)Donna:
Are you having trouble getting the game to load at all? Does the game not load correctly, but you can see the chat? Can you load the game, but when you travel to Amicus Island, you get an error message regarding connecting to the multiplayer server? Please let us know, as that will help us better determine what issues you are experiencing :) |

Donna HannaniI am using a MAC, and have tried on Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. The game is not slow to load, the graphics are great and I can see the chat window on my left. I'm missing the "Enter your text here" chat window that is above my friends in the center and only see NPC's on Amicus. I've reloaded, exited and tried again; it's the only feature of the game that does not work for me :( I don't get any error messages at all and it's frustrating trying to figure it out as I love the game and when I'm out of energy would love to go to Amicus and do the quests there! Thank you so much for all you do!

Kittychix (Chloe)Hi Donna - you might try using the Big Fish Games portal, and see if you can see chat that way. I know they are supposed to have a dedicated mac 'client' (aka, embedded version).
Hope that helps! |

Raymondwouldn't using a different portal in essence put you back to the start as a completely new player? That wouldn't solve here problem in trying to have her current game work for her.

Marci WilsonAs long as she is logged into her game, she can use chat from portal and not lose game progress. Though I do not use chat, and have not tried logging in via Big Fish portal, from my experiences with other games that have their game available on FB platform as well as portal, no progress within the game was ever lost because the servers were synced.

RaymondI'm pretty sure I once joined HI5 to play either this game or BW1, and 'I' was a completely new player there.
Was good for what I wanted to do, find out some early information that wasn't in the wiki or forums. I'm also pretty sure that there was some controversy about the various other portals as people have different incentives/bonuses there, and some high ranking players were being crowded out by almost new players. I think that after that there were separate servers for ranking information of different portals, and NO syncing between cause they were separate. |

Kittychix (Chloe)There is no syncing between platforms, due to some differences in how those platforms interpret friends (or the complete lack there of).
Let's leave it to Donna to decide if she would prefer to continue as she is, or if she would prefer to start over, with the ability to use chat :) |

RaymondThere are ways to get on in Amicus and have chat work, just use different browsers, or computers. As I said above, I only have amicus chat issues perhaps on one tenth of all the computers I ever use.
the other way would be to figure out what it is in your firewall or network or computer that is preventing specifically you from having chat work. IT IS your computers setup somehow, it is nothing to do with djarts, their servers or the game. |
