Amy SoloYeah yeah, late to the party I know. I did read the wiki page on Alchemy but I find it a bit confusing (sorry ^^).
My biggest question is about the powder colors: How do you get the specific colors? I get dissolving a rune should grant that color, so do you dissolve multiple runes to get white and black etc? Does dissolving more at the same time grant the medium and large powders or do you combine powders for that? Thanks!! |

Raymondthe colors are related to the kind of rune you disenchant. there are common colors, red, green and blue. those come from power, gold, gems, mana and fruit runes.
rarer colors come from them too, but rarely. you get more colors from bigger runes, i.e. smalls give you little, scavenged since they are common also give you few powders, medium, large ,pristine, grand and so on give you more powders. You can make medium powders and large powders from small ones, but I don't even bother with that aspect of rune making at all, nothing to do with powders. I combine runes only. |

jpl77it's more complex than that.
simple answer: you only get the colour powder from the rune it is made of. eg, you will never get a green powder from blue rune. larger runes have the potential to give you more powders than the next lower size, but with a large rune you could still only get 1 powder from it. the higher the 'quality' of the rune, the more chances you have to get the rare powders. eg, if a rune is quality 4 you could get max 4 powders min 1 powder. if you got a rare powder it is worth 2 regular powders. |

DestKittehWhat Jason said, except that you MAY get grey, white, and black powders from other colours. And vice versa

Richs GhostDogI'm not an expert but I noticed that if I add different runes (sizes, quality, types)and disenchant at the same time, I will get lt. grey, black and white powders from them along with the standard colors. It seems to be very particular, I'm going to start writing down the combos as my memory is terrible.

jpl77Destiny, not completely accurate there. One specific example is the Void rune, crafted only from Black powder. When you disenchant a Void rune you will only ever get Black powder or a 'chance' for a rare powder. The only way you'd get a colour from a Void rune would be if you augmented it with another rune.
Derek, there is no combo for the powders. http://bushwhacker2.wikia.com/wiki/Runesocketing/Disenchanting_Station You will get a chance to get any rare powder when you disenchant ANY rune except small runes. And when I say small runes I mean only the small runes, not an augment small rune. Rare powders are white, black, light grey and dark grey. Some Rare powders are more 'rare' than others. The odds of getting a specific rare powder are based on how frequently that powder is used in a recipe. The only way to get 'more' rare powders is to create the highest quality runes you can combine. The best runes I've ever made is an 60% odds Augmented Grandest Rune (AGR) and only had a 5% chance of success when crafting and costs a lot of gold. (GR is Grandest Rune) 60% AGR = (30% AGR) + (30% AGR) = (15% GR + 15% GR) + (15% GR + 15% GR) *Which is a total ingredient list of 8 Large powders OR 32 small powders. Crafting AGRs is not the way to get rare powders. It wastes your best runes, which you should be saving for game play. The cheapest way to get rare powders and the strategy I recommend would be to disenchant all runes you get into small powders, then combine your small powders into large powders and craft Large runes. Disenchant said runes hoping to get a rare powder. Repeat the cycle. (tip: if you have extra gold you can combine these Large runes into ALRs, Augmented Large Runes, and that would increase the chances of getting a rare powder) Yes you will lose some powders in the process, but your goal is make rare powder for your best runes. |

Raymonddoesn't the wiki say the biggest rune you can craft has a combined effect of 21 small powders?

Raymondnumber 4 in the drawn out description in the combining station tab of http://bushwhacker2.wikia.com/wiki/Runesocketing
if that's not stating that 21 smalls is the limit then its really a roundabout way of saying that one is not aware of what the limit actually is. |
