Ok firstly Happy New Year fellow bushwhackians , now that 2014 is here I have a few ideas for BW2 this year and they are as follows:

1.Ok, we get a church ( firstly we have to build it ) and the priest will move in and he could have daily quests/tasks as follows:
•FISHING FOR FAITH – this quest will involve fishing for 10 bibles , anywhere in the islands
•NOAH HE AIN’T – This quest will involve going around all the islands and whacking creatures in pairs, and you have to get 5 or maybe 8 pairs of animals ( like noahs ark )
•COMRADE CONFESSIONS – This quest will be exactly like the ‘LEI YOUR FRIENDS’ quest but instead you have to relieve 10 people of bushwhackia anywhere on the islands of their sins
•COMMUNION CAFUFFEL - This quest will involve whacking bushes for 20 communion wafers with wine to match

2.Allow us to trade pet doubles for either gems or gold or maybe a bit of both
3.It has been hinted that we are getting a new area, but also lets presume there will be more to come, so this is what sort of areas I would like to see made possible:
•A area under the sea
•A area like the mad scientist’s in BUSHWHACKER
•A area like the one in BUSHWHACKER with the wizard of oz crew or another fairytale

Hope you al like these ideas,

nice ideas except that island one, please don't force us to have to go to other areas that we have already completed.

As for pets I'd rather like to be able to convert extra duplicate pets into other pets. i.e. I have 5 or 6 monkeys but only 2 of the 3 kinds of monkeys, let me use up some of my 15 to 20 duplicated gen one pets to get another monkey. A direct conversion to a specific kind of a specific pet would be great, but I'd also accept the ability to convert to just a specific pet egg. Yes and have to raise it hoping it will turn out to be a certain kind and somehow in the process losing the actual time we spent raising the converted pets. So say in addition to turning 2 or 3 fully grown pets into an egg we also get some kind of reward like a level 20 pet treat and big rune and gems and gold and and and?

I support the separation of church and game...let's just keep it secular. I'm sure there are religion-based games you can find out there...

Something i'd like to see this year is more answers of a question. Since our BW is a clone and was shipped on the island with other clones, what happened to the others ones (we found the lumberjack, Sacha, the teacher, the event keeper, Rosa and some merchant). So far we didn't happened to meet the Mad Scientist, the Tribal Warrior, the Guru, and a few others.

As for the church, the idea was already developped in other games (-The St.Eva religion in Breath of Fire 2 on Snes or the church of Martel in Tales of Symphonia on GC to name a few). BW2 is played from many people all around the world, if this idea is developped, the 'religion' should be silly enough to avoid useless flaming people on the boards. Something in the line of FBCIGT (The Fertility Botanists Clan of Instant Growing Trees) could do the trick. lol

As a note, there is already religion in the game, Christmas event anyone? A minimum of 3 religions were mentioned. What about Easter? St. Valentine's Day, Saint Patrick's Day, All Hallows' Day, Thanksgiving.

For Trinkets we have the Holy Grail and the Holy Necklace.

Also have to mention The Mysterious Knight, no need to go into how knights and religion are intertwined.

There is the Golden God achievement, Find 100.000 gold in total.

So taking Church out of the game would be boring.....

The holiday events are pretty much all treated as secular, which is awesome. Taking out the "religious" references you mentioned from the game would be silly, since they've already been established. Most of them don't actually have a religious focus anyway. I am not aware of special religious celebrations observed for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day, although they are named after saints. I also think you're stretching a bit on The Mysterious Knight. Knights and religion are often intertwined in history, that is true. However, this is a fantasy game, and knights are common elements of medieval fantasy themes, no religion required.
There is a significant difference between touching upon religion occasionally - in events, mainly, specifically events for holidays that have religious affiliations - and creating a daily quest line specifically revolving around one (existing) religion. I do like Joe's suggestion of a made-up religion, to keep offense to a minimum on both sides of the issue. This game is silly, and it does silly very well.

As religion is a highly personal subject and really touchy for some, I say stay away from it entirely. How about Hell instead..everyone can relate to a devil and some demons, imps etc...can search for pitchforks, upside down crosses, wicked people(thieves, murderers, liars). Can release tortured souls, punish the wicked, put out fires..that could be interesting.
Would like to be able to get rid of pets..how about if they "died" a natural death and you were able to replace them with a new gen pet of same type?
Would like more trinket slots and a storage shed at the ranch (could purchase another building permit and build it) to store excess items.

Wow this has turned into an intense topic - I'd like the game to remain lighthearted entertainment...

In keeping in tune with the OP's topic, "Ideas for 2014" I would like to see an option to cancel unwanted pets when I have accidentally selected to raise the pet.

On the subject of pets - I feel there are too many pets to enjoy the pros they provide, collecting more pets seems redundant as I have a favourite pet that I will always use... maybe focus on morphing current pets to a higher level.

but the one reason to have more pets of the same type perhaps is that once it reaches level 40 you effectively waste pet xp so switch to another similar one. I on the other hand am raising one of every effect to level 40.

but it might be nice to have wasted pet xp once a pet you are using reaches level 40 go towards a pet treat. Cap that perhaps at a level 20 pet treat. so at ny one time you might have anywhere from a treat anywhere from level 1 to 20 that you could use.

Dereck how do you still want religion out but want Hell in? That is contradictory.

BTW, I am neither for nor against church or religion, in or out of the game, I'm merely highlighting where our civilization, traditions and background come from and how modern lifestyle interprets this.

I don't consider hell a religion just a depiction of evil ( good vs. evil) although most religions include some mention of a hell or hell-like existence.I've seem many cartoon versions of the devil or hell and it doesn't seem to offend anyone unlike definitive secular religious characterizations and interpretations.

What about some kind of medical office, or a hospital? Even a police station or sheriff's office or a local jail for those pesky bandits.
