The cost for the 17th Expansion is only estimated. The Devs believe the current cost for land expansion to be so cost prohibitive current players will not be able to purchase the final land expansion. If a case presents itself they will code in that ability.

That is what led me to believe that the info on Wiki is right.

There is a known limit of 20 plantable plots, that's 16 expansions over the 4 free ones. The 17'th one is either buyable or not, but it's not plantable.

If you message him, or he pops his head in here, I'm sure he will comment. I know he submitted a user support ticket about it. When somebody does it, we can always add another plot to unlock.
