The other day I suddenly discovered that players in the new island are connected to 2 servers (or at least they are different sections in the same server), a main server and a multiplayer server. And two chats as well. and that makes things complicated. The multiplayer chat doesn't seem necessary, does it?

im guessing you play on AG.

the main chat on the right is still main chat and covers everyone. the only chat that is broken up is the open world chat and most of it can only bee seen by people in your talk area unless you use /yell first.

The main chat has been a part of the game for a few months. It's totally unnecessary. for many people it never works. You can hide it and it's supposed to remain hidden for you if you choose that.

The chat within the amicus island has been there since that was invented 9 days ago. It too doesn't work for many people, still in beta?, and that's a shame because many of the quests require you to be connected to the 'chat server'.

As for the 'rooms' those have been there also since amicus island was invented, and most of us diehards immediately discovered it because of the obvious button to check out and being able to ask the dock girl all about everything to do amicus wise. And we have benefited because it helps to be on a room with few players, who cares about a miniscule or slightly less miniscule fishing bonus?

the chat commands like /yell and /me for wither chat are listed in the wiki.

The multiplayer chat are for those who don't want to talk in the general chat but do want to meet up with friends on Amicus. There is indeed both a disconnected (without full functions) Amicus server and a multiplayer one - so you can still get to the merchants even if you can't link in to the multiplayer server.

And many people really like the general chat, even though Raymond obviously doesn't! As he accurately points out, though, you can hide that chat if you don't like it.

she said you can hide the regular chat, not the multiplayer one. I remember them saying something about changing that up a bit.

and I never said I don't like the chat. I partake of that sometimes. Mostly when I'm done playing though since because of my screen size I can't put it 'beside' my screen.

Yeah but the chat bar is really annoying sometimes.
