Jill KIn the Mad Scientist's Castle, I'm supposed to what Blood Spiders until the Brood Mother shows up. The problem is that I'm not seeing spiders at all. The grey rat-like things and round robots are the only creatures that show up. Where are the spiders?

Nate DauerLast Edited January 7th 2012 at 10:13 PM A monster question? Yay! I'm relevant! :3
There are 3 monsters in the Mad Scientist's Castle: Level 10: "Blood Spider" (glowing red spiders) Level 11: "Roach" (bug-eyed monsters with crab-hands) Level 12: "Gnasher" (spherical bouncing robot with sharp teeth) Blood Spiders will only appear in rooms with Level 10 bushes: The Dusty Stone Room The Well Lit Study The Dark Flame Room Keep whacking bushes in those areas (Level 10 bushes have what appear to be either small red fruits or flowers on them). After whacking enough of them, a very large Blood Spider will appear. Whack the giant monster and report back to the minion who sent you. RaymondLast Edited January 7th 2012 at 10:13 PM Spiders are Value 10 Beasts so you must go to a Scientists Castle square that has value 10 bushes and beasts.
P.S. The Maps 'show active quests' feature should identify all the squares that you can perform any quest. |

Lynelle Turley KleinThere is one room that puts out only level 10 bushes. Because that room won't give any other critter, you can complete this much faster in that level. It's one of the early rooms, I don't remember which one now. But hover over the bushes in the room to see what level they are and look for the room with only level 10 bushes.
The Dusty Stone Room seems a bit familiar to me. |

RaymondHey Nate, that's great.
Do you have the 'names' of all the Beasts (I don't call them Monsters those would be the jigsaw puzzle results and in ones Profile)? I never see the url's for anything and the server settings forbid looking at the whole directory. |

Jill KLast Edited January 8th 2012 at 8:13 AM Thank you so much for the info! I hadn't been whacking those rooms listed because I already had 100% completion, but I'll go spend time in the Dusty Stone room.
Added: And just moments later, there was Brood Mother! You guys are great. :) |

Nate DauerI found a way around it, sort of.
If you go to the play history, and check the file names of the 32x32 images of the monsters, you can learn their true names. I've been doing this since early October-ish. I currently have the names of all the "normal" monsters listed as well as several "not-really-a-monster" monsters (Turkey is called "Turkey", the cave bats you gather for Bruce are called "Licky", the crabby crabs are called "Cruddy", etc.). Unfortunately, the 32x32 images of the Halloween demon and the Halloween bat were corrupted, so finding out what their names are wasn't a possibility via this method. I actually just started a page for these guys on the new wiki, but it's still very rough. I actually have a bunch of good screen-shots of most of the monsters, I just only uploaded a handful since I'm not very happy with the way I laid out the monster page on the wiki... I wanted it to include: Monster Level, Monster Official Name, Other Name(s), habitats (and maybe eventually include a list of all the zones), a screen shot of it from the front, back, and side. And then maybe some trivia about it. Example: Level 2 Monster Beester Bee Forests, Swamps, Mountains (images) Beester is the only Level 2 Monster in Bush Whacker. Rosa's first quest for the hero is to collect wings from defeated Beesters. Maybe not in that order, but that's all the information I would like to include... :/ |

RaymondHey Nate, here's a copy of a picture I've been building up from the beginning of all the bushes and beasts. There are a few other things there but I gave up on that a long time ago, and I think all Value 18 things are just rehashes of already existing things.
I like the split personality of 2 Value 7 Beasts. https://sites.google.com/site/rayjeromebushwhacker/BushesAndBeasts.jpg |

Nate DauerYeah, there are more Level 7's than any other type out there.
That image might be good for the monster article until I finish up with the screen shots. The way I've been doing them is this: 1 - Get the picture from the front, back, and side (either side, since they're mirrored) 2 - Make sure they aren't clashing with anything in the background (such as glowing bushes, etc.) 3 - Make sure that the monster is holding still or "standing" when the screen shot is taken It's sometimes really tricky to get a monster to stop while facing all "3" directions, since some map zones are laid out in more of a linear style than an open still, I remember Redd (the fire bird) was especially tricky because he only appears in 1 zone and that zone has a lot of "clutter" that could interfere with the screen shot. |
