you know how each fishing spot got some special items in them ? and the different fishing spots around the map? why not let the town crier have a list of the spots and the items, and then we get them "ticked" off when we have fished them up?

Since that's a main map fix/addition can you also add some way to know if a treasure chest has been missed? I mean created by the completion of a jigsaw puzzle but not opened because of distraction. Well that will entail a main map and a progress/mini map solution.
Not every chest is required, because of a key or something, to move on and can therefore get missed because of distractions and such.

I think this functionality had previously existed in the clicking of an areas name while in the progress report, but all that functionality has been removed from there, something I really think was a total mistake. That functionality within the progress report was completely useful for those making the wiki, but that functionality disappeared a long long time ago, perhaps even before the wiki existed.

p.s. bring back that functionality and you can simply implement the request of this thread itself right into that, i.e. 'optional: obtain 2 customization items from lake such-and-such in square so-and-so 0/2'
