Backtracking should be easier...

Why do we have to be penalized when we return to an area that we left incomplete before?
I think that bushes should drop the same thing regardless what your level is, the trinkets that becomes less powerful it's enough to balance the game, if you ask me.
I mean... what's the purpose of levelling up if when you become stronger the game becomes more difficult everywhere? It's ok if latest zones are more challenging but if you backtrack to a previous zone for completing it you shouldn't be penalized, after all now you're stronger, it's natural for a previous zone to be easier.
If there is a reason for this penalization I would like to hear what it is (possibly from an admin, please).

Hi Luca,

The thing about the perceived 'penalization' is that while you may spend more energy/playtime getting all the items, you're actually spending the equivalent number of play sessions doing it. The drop rates are based off of the expending of a full energy bar, so the longer your energy bar is the more time it will take in low level areas (because it just takes that much longer to spend the energy).

This way it will take EVERY player approximately the same number of sessions to get through the game and all the content.

In addition, this issue only comes into play when you're going back to complete optional content. If it was balanced to be easier when backtracking, that means there would actually be a penalization if you wanted to do optional content when you got to it as opposed to waiting until the very end of the game, which doesn't really make sense.

Thank you for this answer.
I understand your logic but in this way levelling up doesn't make any sense... in any game when you become stronger and go back to a previous area you defeat enemy more easily. I can understand that golds/gems/energy drops are lower than high level bushes (same bushes = same drops) but at least puzzle pieces and quest items drops could be the same as ever...

I understand your point as well - for fans of traditional RPGs this is an unusual method of levelling up. However, it's a formula that's worked for BW2 so far, and changing this dynamic at this point is out of the question. It would be a massive undertaking and the game isn't balanced for it at all.

Why are you going back to complete areas?

Shouldn't you have done that before moving on?

I understand if they are Secret Bonus Areas or Nate's adventure areas, but aside from that all areas should be completed before you move on.

If I'm going back to previous areas maybe they're not complete. There are the secret areas and nate's quests that are totally optional and can be done later. If someone wants to hurry to reach the flux before it disappears then go back later he has to skip something...
