What is the purpose? He was following me and I guess I hit him too much (clicked on him) & he ran away lmao...I'm assuming he's in the next room somewhere?

A pet will assist you in quick whacking. Hit the pet a lot and you discover an Easter Egg in the Game. He's not in another room, he's temporarily gone. Walk into, or map warp into any room, or exit the game and come back, or go to the inventory and remove the pet from your character and then select him again, and he'll be there again.
I find pets to be useless, I have all 9 (all existing ones and will have a new one tomorrow)and sometimes use one related to a current event. But pets slow you down, they can get your character stuck whacking and nothing happening, and other things.

He's assisting me? When I quick whacked he sat there looking stupid like a reindeer in the headlights lol.

Hey Raymond, what are all the pets? I have the Reindeer, the Turkey, the Parrot, Snowy, & Easter Bunny. I know about the Roboclaw & I am guessing Speedy Turtle from the Maiden's Rest shop mermaid is another.

Hi Cortney, yeah, you collected carrots for that, lol! It is fun to click on them until the run away and my son (he is 3) likes to watch them. He gets so excited over the pets, that it makes it worthwhile for me to keep trying to collect them.

Lucas acts somewhat like a pet in that you can click on him and eventually you'll scare him away (though, like Raymond said, he's not *really* gone).

I think the snow man one is awesome, he does a sick whirlwind propeller attack to whack the bushes.

Anyways, yes, pets are useless, but they're kind of cool, so they're more or less kind of like your hats or capes.

the other 2 are the Enchanted Pot o'Gold and Cupid.
That one from Valentines day was tugh to get. Unlike every other event quest, those things were totslly random, you might get one every 1oo bushes and you might get two from the same beast, not one every x Energy used.
I loved that.
I loath the total predictability of this event and every event.

The new Pet is Elfy, and he looks like that one by the Transporter. I'd have preferred Buddy or Hermey.

P.S. Hey Developers, since when do Pets count as Customization Items? I opened a Profile before opening my presents and another right after and sure enough my CI count went up by 1. No wonder it's way off.
My own extensive accounting of my 495 number vs the Profiles 510 number still doesn't make sense even taking into consideration that the Profile number even went up by 1 for the 3 or 4 things this year that I didn't get from Quests because I already had them from last year.

Thanks Raymond! I missed both of those events due to computer or internet issues, not sure which, can't remember, lol.

What's with this new pet? Really, it has a faint hint of politically incorrect about it, but then, I'm sure most cities would be upset about keeping reindeer, too. But c'mon, a 'person' (albeit a little one) as a pet? Really?

They're not so much pets as they are sidekicks. :P

Oh, thanks Nate. It will make me feel better to think of him as a 'sidekick'. Or a boyfriend, maybe.......

Technically Elves, and Fairy's (not the modern kind), and Dwarfs (not the people with genetic abnormalities), and Kobolds, and Nymphs, and Goblins, and Sprites, and Gnomes, and Trolls, and Gremlins, and Imps and other such mythical creatures are not Humans, so having one as a 'pet' or slave is not quite wrong. When we meet aliens we might end up filling that roll. But perhaps it's the owning of an intelligent creature that's wrong.

Oh, I hope not, Raymond. I know a lot of cats and dogs that have higher intelligence than some humans lol
