They might, as they have in the past during other Events. When those other Holidays ended the Developers have 'tried' to have the Chest and Giant automatically appear in the very first square of the game, the one with Poot. They have not always succeeded with that though and after many Events many people post for help in relocating their wayward things even though the Map should show you where to go if you use the 'show active quests' feature.
