Nickshire (CNE Dev)Last Edited July 8th 2020 at 2:05 PM Here's the announcement in question
In short, Kongregate will be shutting down chat rooms for Bush Whacker 2 on their site on or around July 22nd. There's a chance I'll be able to enable our own Codename chat service when this happens, but I won't know for sure until later. This does bring into question the future of Bush Whacker 2 on Kongregate. We're working with the platform with regards to allowing players to migrate their Bush Whacker 2 games from Kongregate to Codename Games. On Codename Games, you can continue playing Bush Whacker 2 on the Desktop Launcher after browsers stop supporting Flash after December 31st. Bush Whacker 2 is identical on Codename Games as it is on Kongregate. The only difference is how to add your friends on the platform. You will need to re-add friends on Codename Games, but game-play will otherwise be the same. We'll have more details regarding this migration option later on, and will keep you informed. To migrate to Codename Games, you will need an account there, which your Kongregate BW2 game will be move to. If you'd like, you can preemptively create an account on Codename Games here |

ZingmanReally stinks what Kong is doing, but happy to move to CNE and be able to use the standalone client.

ERIC1342oh and on the topic of browsers no longer supporting Flash: "Mozilla Firefox(TM)" is "long in the tooth" as far as that goes for it is STILL allowing the use of Flash and I think they still will in like a "it seems you are trying access a out-dated media plug-in please sing-in to continue" thing.

phagrasI've mentioned differences between Kong & CNE in chat a couple of times, thought I'd put it here too.
Making friends is different, you can no longer just click a name in chat and add the person as a friend. You need their "friend link" which you visit in your browser and send a friend request. They must accept it before you can make an in-game request to become buddies. There's a good write-up on the wiki from the BFG migration: https://bushwhacker2.fandom.com/wiki/Adding_Friends The other difference is you can no longer spam one person with requests for epacks or crafting ingredients. You can only send one to each friend every day. The rest of the friends system (crop helps, path clearing & event stations) is exactly the same. |

LexianaI've just created a brand new account and am looking forward to migrating - BW2 is really the only game for which I still sign into Kong. Being new to the forums, I don't always think to check here for updates - would it be possible to make an announcement on Kong when this is available? Thank you!

Ex_Bubblehead@Eric Sapp, the Firefox developers have stated several times that the browser will cease to support Flash, in any fashion, with the first release after 12/31/20. In fact, all of the major browsers (that still support flash) will cease support on that day.

Nickshire (CNE Dev)Hello folks!
We have received permission from Kongregate to migrate Bush Whacker 2 players off to Codename Games! I'll be enabling migration mid August. Please continue to hang on until that time. I'd do it sooner, but I have some vacation starting early August, and I'd like to be around to facilitate the migration. We look forward to having you safely on the Codename Games platform :) Sincerely, Nick |
