Can you augment runes that are loaded?

I'm guessing not, but holding out a little bit of hope. Miss added and loaded runes totalling 93+% instead of 100%. Guess I am starting that part over!

No you can't. You can replace it with another one, but you will lose the one you're replacing. 93% is pretty high ... are you sure you want to do that? You could add the other 7% to a second or third rune to achieve your 100%.

Thanks for the confirmation Flybaby. I (stupidly) didn't merge it all into the same rune. I left it in thirds. Hoping I can figure out a way to get the needed rune made before the shortest one runs out. Not expecting I will be able to - my luck keeps things like that from happening usually.

Kathy ... Are you doing a quest that requires 100% ?

you can not correct an existing set of runexs in a sword, or a set of runes made up but not equipped yet. but if you are doing somethingh like that 100% for an sba, you can make that and put those on a different sword that you do not normally use, do the whatever, then put back on your regular sword.
runes in a sword, whether the sword is equipped or just sitting in the inventory, do count down in time to expiration. i.e. no way to save a rune/sword for much later

1) If you have runes made up, but not equipped, you can certainly continue to combine them if they are under 100%

2) I don't see how it is possible to take runes from one sword and put them on another

3) If a Rune is already socketed and you try to put another Rune in its place, the equipped Rune will be destroyed, and the new Rune will be equipped in its place.

i did not say that.
here is the meaning of what i said.
a. person has great runes that they spent a ton on and do not want to waste, those are on sword x and will last for up to 31+ days from now.
b. but that person wants to get into any of a few of the latest sba's.
c. so that person makes up some simply 100% total on 3 other runes.
d. and that person puts those on some other sword, they have over 100 of those to put it on yyou know, hundreds of swords that are otherwise not used.
e. now this in no way effects the runes on the sword that they will come back to in a millisecond after getting into that sba.
f. sure this other set of runes are perhaps kind of wasted, only used to get into an sba and only just about 100% split across 3 runes, not 180% over three and most likely not specially created for maximum time period (it costs 90% less to make runes that last 18 days instead of 32 days.

do you get it?
i can spell it out even more if you are still c

Raymond, don't blame me for your poor grammar. This is exactly what you said:
" if you are doing somethingh like that 100% for an sba, you can make that and put those on a different sword that you do not normally use, do the whatever, then put back on your regular sword."

Maybe you meant to say, that you can re-equip your original sword when you're finished with the SBA, but it sounded like you were saying that you could put those runes [from a different sword] "back on your regular sword"

Flybaby,
Yeah.. trying to ring the bells in Caustic Chasm. I thought I had calculated that I needed 90% gem odds from runes, but it seems that I need close to 100% gem odds from runes.

My plan is to switch the bell ringer out until I can create a rune that will replace the shortest time rune with one that will get me to 100%. When I have the rune made, I will switch back and replace the bad rune when it runs out.

(Hoping that makes sense.)

Thanks for the help!

Yup, Raymond, I know that. The percentage quoted is just from the runes.

To play it safe, I Runesocketed my sword to 100% , but some players did it with 95%. If you don't mind losing that lowest % rune, and can afford to make another gem, you can always replace it with another one at any time, instead of waiting for it to run out on its own.

Here are the percentages which total 95%
[10% for each light hovel and 15% for each dark hovel] There are 2 light, and 5 dark.
