I have no idea how the ranking works as on different peoples lists we can be a different rank.I also noticed that some people have not whacked bushes/monsters as much as lower ranked players yet they are higher ranked. Is their anyone who could explain the ranking system to me please and what does the numbers in gold mean .Thanks

rank score, the 'number in gold', is made up of only a few things.
1. xp. that is total xp gained. and xp ends accumulating when one reaches max level till level cap is increased again. i.e. sum of all xp gained for level 1 to whatever level you are plus the little more xp you have earned to the next level if you are still not at max.
2. total number of bushes and beasts whacked. a million level 1 bushes is the same as a million level 40 bushes. 1 score per bush, but of course the xp for one is not the same as the xp for the other.
3. gem score of gems whacked up. not of daily loyalty login or of casino wins or any other gems, only gems whacked. score is 1x agates + 4x aquamarines + ... + 4x4x4x4x3x3x3x3x3x diamonds. yes the gems is not full 4x across the board, becomes 3x at rubys and onward

when looking at stats of score and bushes or gems you perhaps need to wait up to half an hour after last whacking in order for all the servers and databases to be in sync.

people at max, while at max, only earn score for the 2nd and 3rd component above. gems beating out bushes unless you whack a bazillion in a lower level area.

there is something wrong in this because the following is missing a large amount somewhere. some 260 million

my score 411,932,150 = 100,851,460 xp + 5,022,255 bushes + 817,718 beasts + 44,013,912 gems

that gem score is for 15672 agates, 96292 aquamarines, 323441, 174998, 33730, 8419, 2013, 485, 113, 29 diamonds

yes. i have a spreadsheet of the sum of xp up to each level, and a small python program that calculates both kinds of gem score, the modified score used here and the pure one that is displayed in profile

Wow not Raymond thanks for that. I kind of get it now so if someone is a lower rank they might whack more which makes sense as I hardly do anymore only during events as I have no content left and no Flux puzzles which is very repetitive for only 1 flux dust. I will take note of mine now before the next event and after it is finished and see if mine calculate correctly also. Much appreciated that you answered so quick.. THANKS Happy Whacking to you :)

i firmly believe the discrepancy is accounted for by xp earned (but not really earned because of being at max) with the introduction of the gratuity leveling change of several months ago. and as i see it, there is no way to see that component numbers for the scores. people who are not at max and who have not gratuity leveled up i believe can perform the calculations listed above (with a half hour wait after a whacking) to see their own numbers. but of course you will need to know the sum of XP from level 1 to whatever level you are. there is a table in the wiki but is totally wrong. i might try to correct it or send them my spreadsheet of that.
