you have a non zero chance to get one unique dna when releasing a misc or event pet. you have a 100% chance to get one when releasing a premium pet, so essentially you can buy 1 by buying premium pets. and you have a non zero chance to get one when releasing higher level regular pets (I think something like them being over level 20 has something like a 2% chance, similar to misc or event pets at level 1)
there is no way to trade other dna for them.
they are sometimes available in sales as part of the items in a purchase
