Fishing quests bait
29 Posts	Link to post - Posted August 14th 2018 at 7:23 PM Demanx Well the title is basically self-explanatory, when we have those missions to fish stuff, either soothing Kelp, tubes, shopping bags, scuba gears or even the tuna, South-sea ray and Crabs, is there a better Bait for these to use? or is totally a question o rng? I guess it is the second case no? when I have the farmers quests for fishing gold or fish items it is easier the chocie but otherwise I always had doubt if it matters what type of bait you use on those fishing quests

567 Posts	Link to post - Posted August 14th 2018 at 8:58 PM Matthew Kliparchuk Fish quests i tend to use energy since fish are a energy type reward and gold bait for gold quests if its not specific i just use energy. If you got the gold use the most expensive bait.

I just use my best energy bait to fish up the best fish, and gold bait to fish up treasure quests. If you would rather not "waste" your best bait on other misc. items, then use your cheapest gold or energy bait. I have found the results are the same.

I like to fish and there is so much to do in BW2 that I don't bother to optimize my bait when fishing for quest items. The only thing optimizing would do is save some gold and that's one thing I have a lot of.
29 Posts	Link to post - Posted August 15th 2018 at 6:43 AM Demanx It is then as I expected the bait type seems to not have that much of an impact with fishing quests other than the ones given by the farmer, and I guess the level also doesn't influence that, I never tested directly 'cause I am not that good in statistics but from memory I didn't saw much of a difference in output in those fishing quests while increasing the bait levels along time I've been playing, seems it only matters for fishing gold and energy items...

They do give better items but I guess I'm just cheap lol. I'm almost finished with my 2nd time doing the Michin fishing and did try 10 each of the most expensive baits. I think I'm just cheap because even though I did get better fish/items it didn't impress me enough to change my gold pinching ways. :)
