So, Hawking is gone from the Commons, my quest bar shows the black hole quest as "over", but I'm still finding black holes to whack. What the heck??

when an event ends, mini or full fledged, you still can collect event things for minutes, hours, days, months, even years IF you remain in the whacking area you were in and DO NOT exit to the commons or reload. once you do that, you trigger the event that tells your game that the event ended. and thus the commons npc or whatever one needs to do a turn-in no longer exists and same for the event quest, it existed till you change state. kind of a quantum effect
of course nobody would try that intentionally, or would they???

in BW1 i once stayed in the Halloween castle till long after even Christmas for a reason.
oh, have to say here that even reloading in bw1 does not kill an event, you have to exit area.

So, I zoned out to the Commons, as well as to and from other zones; I reloaded the games (a couple times) with no luck, so I have now sent in a ticket. Thanks Russel and Raymond for the help! I don't send in tickets often (last time was in 2012 apparently!) but I kind of figured that's what I would need to do, but just wanted to check here first in case there was some known issue I had missed hearing about.

And btw Raymond, while I don't post in the forums very much at all (more like never, I know!) I do recognize your name from all the forum posts that I do read, and I think it's fair to say that your title of "Other Peoples Problem Solver" is actually quite apt. Thanks.
