Wayne BennettI know it's a holiday weekend in the US, but I'm getting pretty tired of all these server crashes when the game loads & constantly having to refind a new server every 2-3 minutes.

RaymondWhat game are you talking about?
Not BW. I have been playing without issue for many weeks. |

Monica DykemanMe too. I haven't had an issue in over a year. Well, except for the car taking out the telephone pole, but that wasn't DJArts fault....

Rebecca BeattieI get server errors regularly... I didnt really think about it when I first read this. First I get a brown screen that says searching for a server... Usually that resolves ... But it tends to get worse over time (during a day) until I cant find Facebook at all. At any point if I reboot my computer it resolves and my loading time for zones improves dramatically.
My computer is a bit odd though. I need to get a new one or get this fixed. When I reboot the computer I dump cookies and other stuff. Basically my computer gets amnesia at that point. So my best guess advice. Do some maintenance. Dump your cookies, clear up some space, reboot, conciser defraging... Monica will be better prepared to advise on which of these things will work best. I find that she is patient and also knowlegable. |

Rebecca BeattieBW is where I notice it most but it does effect all of FB for me... I have been thinking that it was my computer and/or Flash... I took my own advice and ran the full scan from malware bytes and it helped.

Wayne BennettOkay, I'm starting to get really ticked off tonight. The "searching for servers" issue has occured @ LEAST 8X within the past 45 mins. causing my computer to freeze between 3-5 minutes each time. 1 of them near the start froze my computer for about 15 minutes.
I know good & well that my computer CAN'T be the problem for BW to be losing connection to servers that many times on the same night!!! |

RaymondI did my daily 1 hour of 20+ Repeatable Quests + 1 hour of whacking, from 9PM-now-11PM EST and have not had a single server issue. Have never seen an issue like you describe "refind a new server every 2-3 minutes".
I suggest you check to see that you have no 'scheduled' things like virus scans, version updates and such that happen at 10PM. And perhaps make sure no other computer in your network is torrenting or watching Movies... It's YOUR connection, nothing else. |

Dave StoneI had a similar problem of random disconnection's. Sometime's it was ok for hour's then it would just start disconnecting every 5-10 minute's.
Found the problem was the main's cable to the computer was too close to the phone wire disrupting the signal. If your wired check your cable's, And if your wireless, Check there's nothing electrical that can cause interference near your router or computer. |

Justin Stocks (CNE Dev)I'm not aware of any actual server issues on our end over the last day or two. We did have a hiccup on the weekend, but it was about 12 hours before this thread was posted and was resolved within an hour. Any connection problems you're seeing have got to be network related, either between your computer and your ISP (Internet Service Provider), your ISP and Amazon (where our servers are hosted), or in Amazon's internal network. I just checked and aside from the server we had to restart yesterday, our servers all have uptimes between 280 and 350 days.

RaymondLast Edited November 29th 2011 at 2:04 PM Justin, since the old forums are gone, can you tell these people the steps to clear Flash memory, Browser Cache & Cookies, a useful program called CCCleaner, and how to use the game options of 'slow computer req1uest' 'save to hard drive vs cache' and so on...
I myself have not had any issues in a long time as I mentioned above. |

Wayne BennettI play other games on here (FB) & none of them ever freeze/loose connection on me. I go to other sites & don't have that problem either. But for whatever reason, it's always during BW that this type of thing occurs.
For what it's worth, I'm on wireless, have Clear as my provider, & use Firefox 8.0, |

RaymondI can bet that not a single one of the other Facebook Games that you play use even one tenth of the resources that Bushwhacker use. Well that's the case for me and the 35 games that I p[lay.
BW is by far the most computer resource intensive game that there is and if your computer is right on the edge of usability then you WILL always have problems playing BW and it will only get worse. You have to be proactive and improve the situation at your end, that's where the problem is. |

Monica DykemanSince Justin hasn't been back, I'll try to remember the Flash clearing procedure. WHile the game is loading, right click and when you see a slider, slide it all the way to the right (I don't get any such thing, so don't be surprised if it doesn't work). I use this nifty, free program and it does the same thing plus a whole lot more.
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner I also keep my registry defragged which makes it much easier for your computer to find all the info for BW as it keeps it all in one place. http://quicksys-regdefrag.en.softonic.com/ Both these programs are free, Norton approved and have been used on a 5 year old computer with absolutely no problem at all. I can't say enough about how useful they are. |

Rebecca BeattieRaymond: Would you repeat your request in the support area? I am guessing that Justin might tool there more often but also its a more likely place for lurkers and future players to look for that kind of answer ...

Bob WoodsRaymond, are you sure that Crapville, I mean, Farmville doesn't use more? I rarely have any real problems with BW even when my slow DSL is crawling, but I constantly had problems with that crap-tastic game. ( Folks, please forgive me if I hurt your feelings in regard to that game, but as you can tell, I hate it! ) I can actually use BW at the same time as a lot of my other games, though if I get more than 2 going at once, my DSL starts smoking. ( Not literally folks )
Wayne, since I started using Google Chrome, the only time this game lags or acts up, is when I forget to clear my browsing data. I hope your problem with the game clears up or you figure it out. |

Wayne BennettBob, I don't blame you. I started FV because it was "the game of the moment". I quickly got bored with it & haven't been there in, I'm guessing, about a year. If it were real, I'ld have no crops & all my animals would be dead.

Wayne BennettWhat I did tonight because I was just getting tired of it, I opened a new Firefox window & deleted the previous browsing session. It seemed to take forever to finally do that & I rebooted my computer just to make sure it was gone.
So far, I've had no problems. *crossing fingers* I'm guessing something got stuck overtime & just created the lag. As you've seen on here, it ONLY affected BW, so that's what made it weird to figure out since other sites & FB games were fine. |

Raymondyou should know that every Flash game that you play has its own section in your cache memory and flash memory and so on.
So it's absolutely not hard to understand that one game would be messed up and every other game would be fine. And of course clearing Flash memory will have the effect of that very first time of loading the game after that taking a heck of a long time, the game is over 500 Megs big. But every time after that it will be just dandy like it always is for the rest of us who know how to clear Flash every once in a while, as was already suggested that you do... |
