So my Vinibark is at level 23, I'm only now just noticing how complete it seems. Stats aside, its movepool is (as far as i know) the most versatile. With swift vine as a speedy move, drain to recuperate health, thorn prick to get some nice damage as well as an extra hit for 2 turns and the additional slot for say, slash (a decent normal move), it really has all it needs.

I may be ignorant here, but I don't think any other (maybe other nature) guardians have such a diverse capability. The only thing I think I'd be worried about here is having to replace a move lol :)

Anyone else have a suggested movepool + guardian?

Slightly off topic, but!
I am all about damage dealers. I like feng's(heroic even better) reckless strike.
Sure he can't fight rock types, but other then that I haven't met a 4 guardian combo that gives my feng much trouble.
I have maxed his level bonus(jelly beans) into attack.

He is level 23. level 18 guardians are 1 hit with reckless strike.
Anything else is two hits. (usually pummel first, then reckless)

This strategy is efficient for energy consumption as well.

Anyway, food for thought.

I wonder if that takes the potential to stun into account? Like maybe with its 20% chance to stun they increase the *listed* power by 20% as well?

I find the problem with "damage dealers" is that if they are faced with a wall/tank (the yeti for example), they're screwed. Not to mention, the higher the power (move), the lower the accuracy (typically). Having said that, I try to keep one damage dealer on my team most of the time for those desperate situations where the rest of my guardians are low on hp, and I need a fast and lucky win.

To be honest though, anything with the right jellybeans in the right stat can be made to do very well against weaker opponents. Without those increases and against a similar level opponent...I definitely don't trust my Feng to last more than a few turns. In that regard, I think either Lyon or Heroic Puffiscratch are better options.

If the game didn't rely on energy perhaps a max dmg per move strategy would fail. But think about it, If my feng can clear a 4 guardian fight in 8 energy, and your team can do it in 9+, I spend less energy to get the same xp reward as you. Healing is free so the only draw back is the occasional long walk to heal, but even healers are spread out nicely. Heroic puffer could be a better option with the same jellybeans in attack, but maybe not since he doesn't have the godly reckless strike.

If you want to talk just successful strategies, then those attacks with a damage as well as lowering enemy accuracy are very effective. uUse them 5-6 times, and your opponent stops hitting you all together!
