Jacqueline L SimonLast Edited February 20th 2012 at 6:05 PM Hello! It was a mechanic that I liked in Pokemon, and I really miss it in MG. Something like "Opponent is about to summon XX, would you like to change guardians?"
I find myself wasting a lot more energy and hitpoints than I am comfortable with. A typical fight might go like this: Me: start with Nature Opponent: Fire I switch to Water (-1 energy) Water takes a free hit, I can do nothing. Attack with Water (-some energy) Opponent defeated, he summons Nature I switch to Fire (-1 energy) Fire takes a free hit, I can do nothing. It's the combination of the -1 energy AND the free damage that I take which saddens me. One, or the other, but I am taking 2 negatives for 1 action. And I don't just switch to pull out a better element. Perhaps it's been a tough fight, and I want to protect the nearly fainted guardian I have so it can receive some XP. If the opponent's new guardian has a first-strike ability, it'll kill my guardian before I can put it away. That has been happening a lot lately, and it's very frustrating. One more point that I'd like to make. Just because the opponent's guardian is a weak element vs mine, doesn't always mean it'll lose. it seems they all are equipped with Pummel, and hit HARD. If their free hit against me is a Pummel, I don't always win. Thank you for reading. I hope you can see my point of view. |

Nate DauerOh yeah, about your original post:
I don't think there were any plans to let us switch when our opponents switched. HOWEVER, David did mention that they intended to give us free choice in who we send out whenever one of our Guardians falls in battle (rather than simply sending out whichever one is directly to the right like they do now). |
