i buy jelly beans. yes people i spend real money on a game. its not a bad thing. i just wish the devs would take the opinions of these people that fund them so they can be updating the games and everything. devs please take our opinions seriously cause i know a bunch of people that have bought and are thinking about buying jelly beans that have valid opinions. it would be nice if u could just take the time to actually talk to them in a private message or something. accept their facebook friend requests and actually listen to them. or have a few players be the voices of many. cause everyone deserves to have their opinions heard. and i for one would love to help u guys out and be one of those people that listens to other players and relays the messages to back to you. please just consider everything ive said and get back to me

Hi Adam,

We take the time to read the opinions of all of our players and we do take them seriously. Significant changes have been made based on player feedback. I personally reply to any player who sends me a private message regardless of if the player is contributing or not. So I am not sure what leads you to believe we don't take players seriously or don't reply to private messages when we definately do both.

david im sorry for the outburst on here. its just that everyone i talk to about the game arent happy with this or that. i was wondering if u needed someone to be a full time speaker of the people? in other words to become a dev and relay all the feedback to the rest of u about players ideas. i think it would make things easier for u and easier for everyone. to just have one person doing the talking to u guys and reading all the messages in these forums. this way u guys can be making the updates while just one person is watching the forums

Hi Adam,

You are welcome to report what you think the issues are and I will be happy to reply. But I don't think we need to setup any official speaker of the people.

Hi Adam,

We listen to player suggestions and make adjustments or implement features that we think make sense or add to the game. It is our decision which suggestions we use and it is our judgment on what adjustments need to be made and what features to add or change.

Ultimately it is our decision and we do what we think is best overall, if a player doesn't agree with that, or thinks we don't care because we didn't do their suggestion then they just don't understand how game design works. There are as many opinions and suggestions as there are players and they don't all make sense for the game.

I'll keep this short, as I don't see this read by many people (and very few will agree with me anyway).

1. If you let the players design this game, it would suck. Period.
2. DJArts is a small developer that doesn't have the manpower to produce more content. Especially since this game is free to play.
3. They already listen more to their community, than most developers do (that's a fact; I work for a game developer too and therefore know a lot about the industry).

I don't expect that anything I just said touches you (you probably think I just sympathize with DJArts for some odd reason). However: If you can't live with the current game design, you should consider to quit the game in my opinion.

even developers can be wrong, and players can give good ideas, how they implement and use them is what makes the difference in a great game or a lame game.

I agree Carlos. I did not say we should not make suggestions. You just can't expect that every or most ideas will be implemented. That's all.

I have been reading the boards for DJArts for a long time now. I have played every one of their games. They do listen. They however have a goal in mind when they develop a game. Keep in mind the game has to be challenging or people won't play. I have complained and the dev's listened. That is all we have the right to ask for. It doesn't matter if you spend real money on the game or not. It is their project. Accept their will or quit the game.

if thats the case, why is BW so easy now? no matter what new content they release, is always the same over and over, and it doesnt take me nothing to complete those new releases, i liked when the game was just released, you could see a lot of new ideas, and challenges all over, now is a recycle of the same, and no matter what they release, cant improve anything, and almost always, all they release is for lower players, and for high players, only gives us a new lv. cap. and a little more of history to advance, is like the olders players dont matter anymore in BW U_U

P.d: heidi, about accepting "they will" is like saying, they are the only ones who matter, gamers doesnt matter, and trust me, i have saw a lot of games, from biggest companies with a good name fall to oblivion for comments like those, so im my opinion, i dont care if its their game or not, its only a game, i can quit and play a new one and my life goes on, but they need to learn that a game is based for their players, a game that doesnt care for their players, cannot be call a game.

and heidi i dont know you, but i like to think for my own and have something to said, and not just said that other people think for me.

Hi Everyone,

Reading this almost makes me want to post the link for the guy who tried to blast Bioware for adding LGBT material into the latest game Dragon Age 2(PM me if you want the link). I laughed myself out of my chair reading one of the game designers put him in his place.

Adam it would be a great idea however here are the catches to your idea. If there is only ever one person being the forum troll then you have the problem of if someone asks a question that one person doesn't know then he has to go ask the person who does know and then go back and hopefully not muck up the answer as they give it. Another downside what if the one forum troll sees an idea and doesn't like it personally and so they don't mention it to the rest of the DJ Arts Team? What if it was a really stellar idea and the reason they didn't want to say it is because the person who said it is someone that the forum troll doesn't like/get along with? Once damage is done it's done and makes even more work for the other Devs to try to fix it all.

Yes I know I joked in the past about working for DJ Arts the programming language I know however would be useless to them so I'd only be an idea person/forum troll which would actually be impossible for me to do probably only because I live near Chicago and it'd be a long drive to work everyday, even if it wasn't I have no idea how complicated it would make doing pay since there is that whole border and everything. I say this because I know someone saw my jokes before and thought I was serious about them. If it were possible to work from my computer and it wouldn't be complicated beyond belief and I had more to do then just be a forum troll and unload all the awesome ideas I've got in my head along with help problem solve things like the level cap stuff that's been talked about elsewhere I might consider it but I won't hold my breathe.(Had to say this in case anyone wanted to bring this up from my previous posts since the speaker of the people was tossed out here)

Nate playing any game too much can burn someone out it doesn't matter what the game is. That said there are people that no matter how much they play something there is always something new that can be found, for example not entirely new but I FINALLY caught a Fizard today it was also the first one I've seen the entire game...still on the lookout for Squilly, so there are always things that can keep someone into a game. Another example Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I can't tell you how many times I have played that game and beaten it and never been bored with it....hehehe speaking of I think I'll go play some later.....that or NWN2 hehehe

I would also like to know what/who you mean by activists in the game. I'll tell you right now if you think to place me in that group think again. I'm a stubborn cuss and short of being blocked from playing the game by the Devs I'll prolly play it all the time just like their others games I've played, I STILL play the original Egg Breaker even without new content added in. I play a game because it is fun to play not because of new content. I'm not a person with a short attention span who needs the OOOO shiny what's that to keep me in a game.

Benedikt
1. How do you think some game creators got started REALLY? What proof do you have that this game would ultimately suck if it was left to the players for content creation? I personally have seen some really good ideas in here some have made it into the game others haven't....yet. If they do then cool if they don't as long as the game is still fun then cool also.
2. Yes they are small then say Zynga or other FB Game creators but they still have good ideas for games and people do play them. Size doesn't matter as long as the games are fun.
3. Yes it can be hit or miss for someone being listened to by a game creator for anything not just Facebook. However they ALL have to listen to some extent otherwise they will have no base.

Jerry no matter how a game gets created there will always be people it is too easy/hard for it's a fact of life I don't think there is one game that has been made that anyone can play and never ever have trouble with.

Heidi I've played all the games too. Yeah I don't play all of them anymore Egg Drop got weird and Vampire Mob City were lacking a few things for example. Now I will admit I never read the forums in the past for Egg Drop or VMC but there was plenty there that could have been done better or differently. From what I can tell also from the forums as a whole here it would seem that DJ Arts is now trying to center all their focus on Mystic Guardians. I say this because it looks different from all the other forums now and the Devs speak up MUCH more in here then in the other games, for example I asked a question on the EB2 forum today that ONLY a Dev could answer and still have had nothing but silence but David DID comment on another post I had made in there that actually didn't require an answer but it was nice to see he answered something at least. Yes all the games are their projects however what good is a project if you drive away the players for whatever reason. Their will be done only if they have a base that will accept that will. So their will is useless if they only have 5 people left playing the game.

Nate really I don't care who the unnamed player is please stop talking like you are a Dev for the game all knowing and can answer anything. Until I see DJArts Games next to your name on your posts then maybe I'll start believing all the crap you say like it's fact.

The truth is, again, players actually make a BIG difference in a game, it's sort of the whole point of Beta really, and to say otherwise is just dumb and ignorant. As for your third comfort lemme clear something up for you since I read the forums a bit.
Justin said at one point that the switching of Guardians costing energy was a bug and they were working on fixing it. I believe it was Peter who announced when that bug had been fixed. Yes they DID listen to the players about the energy in the game. And while TskTsk was added to the game, I am sure the posts about Zaat and Squiddy helped they might not have been the only reason he was added, they also added the ability to buy Guardians with Tokens so how do you know they weren't going to make it a quest thing to begin with or that they knew they were going to do a quests type thing for it just not what Guardian until they saw what the players were saying about Zaat and Squiddy. Personally I think it is hilarious that water is what is supposed to be strongest against Rock but both my Nature and Fire Guardians do more damage in one move then any of the water types I have.

Having said all that here is how I know why players/customers matter so much. Outside of my Facebook games I am in the metaverse Second Life(like I said the programming language I know would be useless to this type of programming). In Second Life I create content for the world, it is NOT a game games have levels and quests and achievements Second Life doesn't. In Second Life there is a form of currency that can be bought or sold for real money. Anyone in Second Life can buy anything I make if they wish. As a merchant if I didn't listen to customers, or potential customers even, I would not be making even close to the money I make. Having been in Second Life now for gosh 6 years almost I have seen places come and go and I can tell you knowing some of the people who tried to start businesses there their biggest flaw was not listening to the people buying things from them or otherwise bad customer service. I have had my little store now for about 5 years, took the first year to play around and learn things before I started selling content I made. In that time I have had hundreds of customers and maybe 5 issues where a customer had to come to me with a problem. Every time a customer came to me I was prompt and professional in helping them, all but one time it was just a small thing they didn't understand in the product for using it. Only once was the problem my fault and even then I had it fixed very quickly and I have great reviews for things I sell all over because I take care of the people who buy my stuff and I listen to them. Now whenever I'm working on a new project when I think I'm almost done I will give a handful of customers a look see and get opinions on things to make sure I'm keeping things that people would actually want to buy. Developing a game is no different here it's a matter of the game is in beta so we're the ones who are the customers and the Devs are the merchants. Unless they listen or at least hear people out they'll never get far.

Hi Adam,

What are these ideas you don't think are being heard? Looking through your posts the only ideas I see presented are "Cheaper energy refills" and "Good VS Evil choices for the player in the story". In our story the player is the hero, and I think I have answered the energy cost several times. So, what exactly are the ideas we are talking about that are not being heard?

*note* my comment about Nate in regards to being a DJ Arts employee are in regards to the stuff he removed from his post. Just thought I would add this so no one gets confused with that part of what I said.
