Kite_samai dont think is fair for us, to have to fight a trainer that has lv 28 guardians and have to face him with lv 25 guardians only for the cap limit, at least let us lv our guardians to the max lv of the trainers, i suppose that the gym leader would have guardians lv 30, make that lv the cap for guardians.

David Whittaker (CNE Dev)Hi Carlos,
I don't think it is fair to the trainer... you can stack your team to have all strong elements against the trainer and make very easy work of them. They really need to be 5 or 6 levels above you to be a fair fight ;) You are talking about the gym trainers and they are intended to give you a little challenge, making them higher level is a good way to do that. -David |

Kite_samaif were talking about fair, then whats fair about being controlled in the lv cap of guardians? i think is more of a choice for the gamer to decide if he wants to fight him in equal terrain, or give the trainers an advantage.

Askari AddisonI would usually agree if this was a full release game, but it takes a lot of energy to level, and if I was at the end of the new area, I would probably feel the same way as Carlos. Yeah, you can fight and lose against the trainer and then stack your team, but that would take a while, especially if you haven't been playing since the game released and your other Guardians aren't up to speed yet.

Kite_samaP.D: one more thing, what you said isnt completely true then, because after more updates, the new gamers can decide if they want to challenge the gym leaders with higher guardians or same lv, if you really want to control the lv of the guardians, i think the best choice is what they do on pokemon, with each badge you gain you have access to new levels for your guardians, and even in pokemon you could have moe powerfull ones than the gym trainers.

Kite_samaP.D.2: the trainers we face already have an advantage, we dont know the lv of their guardians or the types, or the order they have, to know this we have to face them first, so your argument isnt valid here david.

Kite_samai think controlling the lv cap with the badges is a good solution, people since the game got released is arguing about that cap, if the medals control that cap i dont see why people would keep arguing about that and you could include the player lv in that cap too.

Lasynda Shichiroji:D May I point out that if someone had wanted to in the first Gym they could have taken the time to level their Guardians so they were much higher before you ever hit the Gym making short work of everyone and their Guardians in the Gym....... Also like Carlos said what about after more updates are done and the caps are raised further then newer players can level up beyond the Trainers and make short work of them and yes David unless you guys are gonna make it so we can see what a Trainer has that we haven't faced there is no way for us to know what they have to have a team ready to compliment the fight.

Benedikt AlbertI think, that is a good way to make gyms challenging. It's not a secret, that they have rock types either. As a player you can always use potions, switch Guardians, etc... why not have those gym trainers have higher level Guardians?
That said, there is not that much options for each elemental type of Guardians at this point in the game. Especially if you don't have Crabby, like Carlos (Squiddy and Zaat have poor special attack and there is not any other option so far). But still, you guys already reached the end of the content update after two days... go and spend some time leveling your Guardians or catch some stronger ones. :> |

Kite_samaLast Edited February 7th 2012 at 11:57 PM is the option of a gamer if he wants a challenge or just fun, but putting a lv cap with the excuse "is to make gyms trainers a challenge" thats not realistic, thats just an excuse.
this make me remember when ninja saga launched the chuunin exam, only the ones who paid and have the emblem could pass that exam, because they put it so people would have to spend real money to get the emblem, because for the others the opponents were overpowered and you needed items and equiptment you could only get if you have the emblem. im making a valid point here about why we should be able to lv our guardians more; and i even give a solution for the lv cap of guardians and character, just dont come saying is for making a challenge, challenge the yeti and it was really easy to beat him, used 2 pots of 200 life and 1 revive to take him down and only have 1 lv 25 guardian. im not asking that i can lv my guardians to lv 40 to overpower the gyms trainers, im asking that we could lv our guardians to a lv equal to the gym leader, thats normal if people want to take her time and lv until that lv good for them, if people want a challenge they can get it, but is the people choice, not the devs choice the tells us, you have to face them this way, thats not fun and i really hate when someone tells me i have to do it like that, i like to look for ways that let me enjoy the game, planning strategies to beat someone or something, but never come and said to me "you have to do it this way". |

Askari AddisonI can understand the game is new, the content isn't all done, etc. I guess the downside though is you have really dedicated players now who want to play more, not less. We like the game...

Tim HotalingI can understand that the gym leaders should be a challenge, but level gaps do effect gameplay. If you're requiring us to use potions in order to beat certain trainers, that's understandable, but that will require player to continue to farm tokens. If this was the originally desired intent, a simple yes would suffice.

Kite_samaeven if thats the purpose Tim, im against it, that shows to me that they only want to do what they want and dont want to listen to our ideas or suggestions.

Darken Aoc RahlMy level 12 rock beats level 20 normal types. I don't understand why you are having troubles. Just use the correct element against the correct element. It doesn't take potions.
You said you want a fair fight yet the NPCs aren't smart enough to even swap the elemental type to beat you... |

Tim HotalingNPCs are pre-programmed, if they were going to swap their type to beat your current type, you would then swap as well, thus creating a never-ending loop.

Darken Aoc RahlNot true. Fast attacks land before swaps happen.
