07.02.12 Henrik Svensson is in the house competition again, after winning 1st place on the 31.01.12 why doesn't he have to wait 4 weeks like everybody else... I've reported this to the developers in the past.

The Developers have said that the top winner can'tr even enter again, but they admitted that they had no idea why what they programmed doesn't work. Well that's how I remember it from the very month of the House Competition back in May or June.

I think a lot of the potential problems with the housing contest could be avoided if we could only win the first prize once. After that, we could still enter, but the first prize would go to whoever gets the highest score who has not won the prize yet.

At least then we'd only have repeat entrants who enter for the sake of competing, disabling the incentive of those who would enter multiple times for the sake of exploitation.

Umm but you don't get the 1st place prize multiple times. His energy, mana and power maxes pretty clearly show that.

Nope. As someone else has pointed out months ago you get a Quest Item in your Inventory that 'grants' you the extra Mana/Power/Energy.

As for his stats, he clearly has missed several of the very first Holiday Events since he has not been in the game from the very beginning. His Energy is only 10 less than mine and mine is only 10 less than the actual Max since I missed getting the highest Ribbon for the first years Thanksgiving Event. His Power and Mana are 'clearly' much higher than normal. My 765 is the Max of those and he has 800.

Quote from the game itself: "If you win first place you'll receive a special Ribbon that increases your maximum Energy, Power, and Mana..."
And that's why there was a big hubabaloo back when it was first invented and the person who won it the first week also won it several weeks in a row. Many of us players have called for a 'one time only' Ribbon for getting to first place. The other benefits of first place don't matter, but the increase really does. I like the idea of not ever being able to get in first place at all again and others having that extra chance.

But he could have won the house competition once every 5 weeks since June and gotten where he is. We only have the report that someone thinks he also won first place last week and this week to go on.

I don't even participate in the house competition as it's more of a popularity contest - those with thousands of friends will win every time.

They have known since immediately after introducing the contest, that this was broken. The guy who the first week, was immediately in the top 5 next round.

They've done nothing to fix it. Either they just don't want to, or they don't know how.

To be honest - it was one of the reasons that I've lost interest in the game. To give permanent rewards based on a popularity contest with broken coding just frustrates me. I don't mind the winner getting a bonus. But a permanent reward that gives a huge advantage to a player should not be given out multiple times to one player due to popularity.

Just my opinion. I love the devs in general. I love the games they create. But I do not agree with the way this was programmed or planned. However, my opinion doesn't really matter, since I'm not a dev. hahahaha

As Lynelle said, one of the biggest problems is that they're giving a permanent advantage based on popularity alone. The first week, the guy who won had the most pitifully "decorated" house possible. And yes, he appeared in the top 5 on week #2.

I continue to participate just to get the extra gold.

I don't know about cheating, but the guy in first place is a total noob! My house is so much better than that one and I'm in 34th place, lol.

I was only doing the comp when there was prizes to win for getting at least one vote. Every so often I try just to see if they came up with a new one. It's been a month and still it is a little 100 pt exp win.
I know I will never get to the top five. I get maybe 5 to 15 votes from my friends.
Let me know when and if they ever make a new low level vote prize. (that's my two cents thanks for reading)
