Hi folks,

As some of your may know by now, during the push to get the Mountains update out some player data was mistakenly lost. This issue affected about 2,500 players, primarily those who joined during alpha or early beta, and unfortunately the backups we had were insufficient to restore these players' data. A compensation and restoration page has been set up for affected players, but I wanted to reaffirm here that we are committed to both not letting this kind of thing happen again (obviously), and making sure that players affected by this issue feel reasonable compensated. If there are any issues with the compensation package we will be addressing them in whatever way we can over the next couple of days.

Again, we feel absolutely sick to our stomachs that this happened, and we hope that over time we can make it up to those affected by rolling out awesome updates and providing a really fun game for everybody.

Hi Adam,

I encourage anyone with specific requests regarding compensation to open a support ticket (using the 'Help Me!' tab above the game). We may be able to provide additional compensation, but please be respectful and mindful of the fact that there are a thousand other people like you and it may take us some time to get to your issue.

I think the efforts you've made to fix the data loss are awesome! Shit happens and you've gone a good way to making up for it.

I will however say that I am probably like most people in that I had collected guardians from all 3 elemental types, and it took a whole to do so. I'm disappointed that I AGAIN have to go find a water guardian. Can we have the option of swapping out a lower level mooky or fang for the 3rd elemental type easily? Thank you! (Agreed, I'd like my squiddle back!)

I had hoped there would be a new way to add the third starter to our team. I hope that comes in later. Still you have been kind with trying to help us all out.

Thank you for all your hard work. :)

While I am a little disappointed that my information got lost in the update, I do appreciate that all the devs are willing to offer some form of compensation for those of us affected. It will take a little bit for me to get used to the specific attacks that my guardians have now. I really liked what I had leveled up for my guardians already, but its ok. I think I'll open up a support ticket tomorrow afternoon about it. I would do it tonight, but have to get to bed in a few minutes.

Thank you again. I know that this has been a nightmare and HUGE headache for all of you. It means a lot to know that we have devs who are willing to put in extra hours worth of work to try and fix a problem, or at least be willing to offer some type of compensation instead of saying "sorry, you have to start completely over." It is greatly appreciated. :)

I don't say much. Just a quiet player. But I know how difficult it is to write programs for games and I give KUDOS to ALL the developers for their hard work. Remember boys and girls, It's just a game. =)

Wow, that was a big boo-boo. Yup I got hit by it but I can survive. It is just a game. Thanks for the compensation. I am up in some ways and down in others and I think it levels out for me.

Best of luck and I am glad I didn't have to start over.

I just want to say this really bites. I had 11 Guardians, all evolved to level 19 or better. Heroic Feng was at level 15, and Zaat was at 20.5. I was almost at level 7, and had fully upgraded my barn.

I understand that these things happen, and my guess is those accounts who got deleted - we were on the server playing at the time of the update. As a QA Software Engineer - I understand mistakes happen, but next time - please boot everyone. People will be mad/upset for being booted, but this wouldn't happen!!!!!

Oh man I honestly don't know which one to pick, most of the choices look like a slight step backwards. I won't get mad, This game is still in Beta, and I joined in at Alpha.

Actually, Maryann, not everyone whose accounts got deleted were playing at the time of the update. I am one of those. If you read Justin's comment about who all got their accounts deleted, accidentally, it was mostly people who were involved with the Alpha testing, or who joined the game shortly after Beta was released. So it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with them being online playing when it happened.

Thanks Justin. I like the options for the restore points. There are step backs, but also step ups for me, now I just have to decide on which one to take.

Just wondering if the Dj arts tokens will be replaced for the Heroic Feng purchase? I just bought mine today, if not its not a big deal :)

Actually, people playing during the update were some of the ones who were okay. I don't want to get into the details of the issue, but the primary data loss occurred on the master database and not on the servers that actually handle active players.

Again, if anyone has any specific restoration requests, we can look at those on a case by case basis if you open a support ticket. Please be patient as our support load is likely to be much higher than normal over the next few days.
