AndreasCNE has made it clear, that EPs are only gained through EP-missions going forward. Duplicate gear only grants crafting material.

Muljo StphoAlthough if you think you can make a case for further mission updates being necessary to make EP earning possibilities more well rounded, go for it.
http://www.fantamondi.it/cotli/missions I think it would be hard to call EP missions trivial after the crafting update though. Through the duration of the event that just ended, I got the two newest crusaders up to 86 and 115 EP already (and the 115 is Foresight, who I had seen someone post some concern that it might be harder to earn EP for since Foresight has neither gender tag). I can also note that those two are currently my only crusaders under 200 EP whereas before the crafting update I had... more than 20 crusaders under 200 EP. Also, before crafting my only crusaders with over 400 EP were the original 20 because of EP from duplicates, and currently I've got... 30 crusaders over 400 EP (plus at least a few more coming up to it soon). Giving the mission list a quick glance myself... There a 7 missions worth 1 EP for 2 crusaders. All 7 missions are common. The duration ranges from 5m to 1h. (Quick earners. Very good for active play.) These cover the male and female tags 4 times each. And they cover the animal, robot, human, supernatural, magical, royal, DPS, support, gold, and tank tags 1 time each. Oh, and they cover the event tag 2 times as well. The tags which are missing from this portion of EP missions are clicker and all the really specific race tags (elf, orc, demon, angel, leprechaun, dwarf, dragon, and alien). There are 6 missions worth 2 EP for 2-3 crusaders (only 1 of them is 3 crusaders). 4 of those are common and the other 2 (including the 3 crusader mission) are rare. The duration ranges from 45m to 2h30m. (Still fairly quick earners. Also good for active play.) These missions are mostly genderless with the exception of one asking for 2 males and another asking for 2 females. They cover the magical tag 3 times, the animal tag 2 times, and the human and robot tags 1 time each. They cover the DPS tag 4 times, the support tag 3 times, and the gold, tank, and healer tags 1 time each. They do not cover the supernatural, royal, or event tags. Nor do they cover the clicker tag or the other race tags. And someone could keep going on like this, breaking down what tags each next group (working up through the higher EP values / higher rarity / longer duration) of missions does or does not cover. So far it looks fairly okay. Some tags aren't represented at all but a lot of them are one-offs, and those crusaders can all cover other tag requirements anyway. |

AndreasThe thing to keep in mind for EP-missions is that they need to work for newer players with a smaller list of available crusaders, as well as players with 80+ crusaders at the same time. Especially the short common missions shouldn't be too specific or rely on the more rare tags like clicker/angel/leprechaun, etc. For the epic ones this is another story since epic missions in general should demand more. More difficult setup of crusaders sent and a longer time needed for completion.
It's very impressive that you brought Foresight to over 100 already. I admit I was worried how fast I could increase its EP when it came out. This changed significantly, thanks to the other tags which are commonly asked for. What I would like to see for the future are one or more animals. Thanks to the current recurring requirement for animals in EP missions I'm getting awfully close to have everyone on 400+, my current main motivation. |

Muljo StphoYeah, the missions I looked over, the 1 and 2 EP missions, seem pretty good about being generic enough to help newer players. Mostly. The worst for them would be the missions with the robot tag. No robot in the original 20. Need to either reach Exterminator (by which point you're probably well out of the range of being called a new player) or get one of the event robots.
Anyway, I was just trying to set up a thorough overview there (even though I cut myself off after two groups of missions). Wasn't trying to say that it's automatically a bad thing that the more specific tags weren't covered in the groups I looked at. Instead my point was more that there's a pretty good spread of options there already. |

Raymondone DOES NOT need to have 100% chance to succeed a lot of the times on all EP missions.

TyroneI understand the points made, though I want to add that allowing disenchants to add a single EP (regardless of equipment rarity) would be a significant boon to newer players and would help many decide to stick around longer. If changes are made to EP to make them relevant to any except the one primary DPS, I could see arguments about balance changing, but as is they're so overshadowed that they're largely useless.
Before, when you gained new gear, the previous gear was disenchanted into EP. Now, when you upgrade gear, that new equipment is applied but you don't get EP or materials for what you had before. |

AndreasHow do you know, Tyrone? What is the probability of gear getting disenchanted by silver or jeweled chests for new players? Especially versus the amount of common EP missions a newer player might encounter before? How many new players quit the game expressing the lack of EP as their driver to not continue rather than idling or clicking or the graphical violence being among the issues?
EPs are relevant for non-DPS-crusaders in as much as you need a lot of crusaders on 200 - soon 400 EPs in case you want to speed up getting gear for both T1 and T2 event crusaders. Other than that, no, there is no real point in gathering EP and there has not been before. This is also why I actually think the new way to get EPs is a lot better than the old one. Because you can decide who gets EPs and who doesn't. Oh, and on another note: Newer players wouldn't know how EPs were received by disenchanting duplicate gear. Only if other players told them to complain about the game ;-) |
