My current 10 missions have requirements for 20 specifically female crusaders;
Whereas, only 7 specifically male crusaders are required for those same missions.
Consequently, many missions are waiting in line just for females to become avaialable.

I realize this may be an intentional imbalance to add challenge to doing missions and/or encourage us to embark on less than 100% probability missions...
But if not, removing some of those mission requirements that demand specifically female crusaders would be a big help.

PS: this has nothing to do with gender equality or other political issues - please only discuss game-play if you want to comment. Thanks.

It seems to me that mission on average require more or less the same number of male and female crusaders. But it's a fact that there are less female crusaders, so they end up competing for the same slot much more than male ones. Even more restrictive are the missions that require magical crusaders (6 iirc) or healing ones (3). I'd like to see a rework of the mission that takes into account the relative prevalence of certain tags, but Erika has already said that this system is fine as it is, since the devs view missions as a secondary aspect of the game.

A difficult topic since the data for an analysis might not be the best

> Consequently, many missions are waiting in line just for females to become avaialable.

I am not sure that you can draw a conclusion based on one current missions setup. For me, there are far more variables to be taken into account:

- the number of female-tagged crusaders: established, we know how many there are
- the number of missions requiring female crusaders: we can find out through the wiki
- the time female crusaders spend on missions compared to the time males spend on missions: This one depends also on the style of play you have. Starting missions once per day in bulk, waiting for each mission to end to start a new one; plus: how many females are in your formation and can't leave, how many females are on missions not because of their gender but other tags

From what I have seen in my missions so far, females tend to be more rare than males, I agree. But the same is for animals compared to humans (female animals are extremely "weird"). From my point of view, you can break this "dilemma" down to the other discussion we had about the mission tags themselves, because I also end up with far less healer-crusaders compared to the ones I need.

But, overall, I still would argue in the same way: Yes, there are some tags that are less often than others, but this is part of the game and I personally am very fine with it. To think before starting a mission whether it is wise to send your last female magician/female royal/animal gold finder out even though you just have finished two or three common missions and other ones will be around in a bit - I hate storming the castle for exactly that reason. Or to wait for another 10 minutes for another mission to end. Or to not take the crusader first in line of suggestions by the game.

I'ld like to add another thing to the discussion. I think I have done in the other thread, too, but this also fits in here: If the setup of missions stays the same, this issue might solve itself over time from my point of view. With the number of crusaders increasing and the numbers of concurrent missions staying the same, chances are improving with each event.

Also, as far as I remember, epic missions for gear and crusaders have their own refresh cycle. Meaning, as soon as you get all the crusaders, these epic missions will not appear anymore, reducing the number of needed crusaders quite significantly, I think.

In general, and here is where I see this differently than CNE, the missions have become a significant part of the game. Even if Erika and the developers have made it clear multiple times, that from their point of view, missions are just a little side-node, my feeling is that missions changed the game a little bit from just an idle-clicker-patience game to a more strategic and regular check approach. It is free stuff. Of course competetive gamers try to get most out of it. That is why we play games in the first place. Because we are competitive and want as much as fast as possible. And especially with many established players hitting level cap and ending up farming idols, missions are a welcoming alternative.
So, where am I going with this (and this will be short, I hope): Yes, I would like to see changes and additions to the missions. But I would like to keep the strategic part of the missions alive. Because my main fear is: Boredom because you simply click your crusaders away on missions.

one thing that breaks down any legitimate data analysis is ones own taking or ignoring (whether just temporarily or in full) and mission. that instantly skews what one perceives about females...

Yes, as far as data analysis, i admit it's anectodal ... i haven't kept a chart since the beginning tracking every mission tag and duration and how long it sits before being able to start, and so forth. Sorry. I'm just about obsessive enough to do that - but not quite.

As far as basing it on one mission set-up - i used the mission set-up at the time of writing for an example, but was only writing because the circumstances of the time were fairly constant (at least constant enough to be annoying enough to get me to write!).

A day later, my current missions require 16 specifically female crusaders and only 6 specifically male ones. - which is probably something like the opposite of the actual m:f ratio (depending).

Healers and magic guys are even less frequent, but i've never had a queue of missions requiring 15-20 magic-users or healers. Their avaiability and tag-requirement seems to be closer to being in alignment; whereas the high necessity for female tags on missions seems out of allignment with the availablity of females (at for me; i think there are five female event crusaders that i am missing).

As a secondary part of the game, it's not a life-ruining inconvenience, but it is a bit annoying.

Raymond, agree, this would add to the complexity, of course

Azaryah,
> Healers and magic guys are even less frequent, but i've never had a queue of missions requiring 15-20 magic-users or healers.

Currently, I am asked to fill 5 healer tags in case I want to activate all missions in parallel, but there are only 3 out there - a ratio of 60%. Plus, the dragon is part of my formation, so I really need to think whether it is worth sending him away for a two-day-mission or if I can handle it with the other two, since I want to do every mission but not waist too much time. I also have four magic-tags in need, and while I have all six, two of them are in my formation, the other two urgently need a raise in EPs and the other two ... well, are on some of these missions. And let's not talk about tanks which somehow always disappear on other missions before two or three missions pop up requiring them all.

This whole management of - well - resources if you allow the business lingo, is quite enjoyable for me. Getting the timing right to maximize the result. But I also understand well that my joy in suffering might be annoying for others :)

And I hear you. Missing five female crusaders is quite an impact for missions. So, maybe one solution could be to limit the amount of possible missions in relation to the number of crusaders available. You have a base of 3 missions and with every three crusaders available for missions, you get another one. However, this would lead to other discussions about why certain mission types are even more rare. Well, good thing, I am not responsible for the game :)

Oh yeah, forgot about tanks - of the three i have, two are female! Thus increasing the fun/difficulty of resource management. ( ^_^ )

Worth asking i guess (though i know they must've been in the works for weeks if not months).

Looks like the two new crusaders are both female! (Curious to see what other tags they will have).

yes, they are. One human female healer, one animal female tank
