Hi there,

not really a request, more a few suggestions to maybe add a few different things.

First off, missions: I do like how they work so far. But how about adding some additional bonuses?

I.e. a timed improvement of the probability to receive a silver chest on a boss level. This might sound as bad for experienced players as the missions for gold, but even for a more mildly experienced player, getting probably more silver chests would be lovely. A mission like "Long live the looters" where you need to bring in a few support and gold crusaders to improve their ability to loot temporarily, or a need for multiple DPS crusaders to 'improve their ability to kill but keep the bosses' corpses in a lootable shape - sushi might tase nice, but isn't very lootable, Sasha!'.

The same, I could envision for the raise of probability of getting a jeweled chest instead of "just" a silver one during a boss level. Basically the same result, having a timed bonus/ability to raise the probability by a certain value. For this I could think of a need for one or multiple magical crusaders to train them in alchemy - well, nearly alchemy - to turn silver into jewels plus gold finders again to provide them with enough test material.

A very wild idea would be an epic mission to skip levels. I know whe are in a fantasy world, but wouldn't it be possible for magical and robotic crusaders to work together to create a hole in space/time to warp the full team forward for a certain amount of levels? Maybe being supported by a healer so they survive this huge multidimensional magic wonder stunt?

In general, as an alternative to hurt crusaders, how about introducing a formation debuff instead? The formation might be in so much tears about the failed mission that they can't right focus on dps-ing for a certain time. Would this be annoying for free play? Yep, it probably would. Would there be a chance that certain Objectives might be reached in the required time? That is the complexity I would like to see.

Now, while I love the daily quests, I am not sure, how many times I solved them without noticing (level crusader X up 25 times, make x amount of gold), or how frustrated I got during the 2k Clicking quest. I don't want to get rid of them. Not at all! But, how about adding the little quests of past events to the pool? Not to get the achievements retroactively, but to have a bigger pool of quests for the more experienced players of us. This would mean, if you have the needed crusader(s) of an event, you are likely to get the "Teamwork!" quest to get Robbie and Broot in the perfect order. Most of them - especially the 'earlier' ones might be very easy. But so is the "level Thalia up 25 Times" for most of those players who either played during those old events or got those crusaders during the epic missions now, retroactively. As for the jewels to be earned? Well, this depends on the difficulty just like right now. This is probably highly subjective, but I still can't get my head around how to have made the "RoboRabbit" achievement. So, quests like this one would be worth 30 Jewels, while "Different Strokes for Different Folks" might just be worth 10 or 15 Jewels.

I'm almost done.

The last part is about the Guide. I know there have been posts that this is about to be reworked, but it seems as if I have a few coins left, so here are my two cents:

Would it be possible to introduce a section calles "Crusaders" listing their tags, their possible gear and their abilities? Very much like in the Crusaders Wiki but in game.

Also, as a help for less hardcore players - or maybe to help them a little bit, too. Would be possible to introduce a sandbox mode? What I could think of is to use the whole screen width and the possibility to move the crusaders around more freely - to be able to move the columns in parallel or slightly off to each other in vertical position (hope, this makes sense for native english speakers?). This would also mean to level up crusaders until level cap in theory (or in case you store the highest level achieved for a crusader until this one is done) and the display of their potential DPS, gold bonus, etc. As a (maybe) start, I don't think, monsters are needed. Yes, this would remove any buffs triggered by activated abilities or buffs or triggered by the death or direct attack by monsters. But in my mind this might be supporting newer players in their setups without the need for freeplay.

I know, this sounds really complicated and it might only help a limited amount of players. But so do silver chests and missions and they have been introduced.

For all of this, if one or all of this has been asked before and denied, I'm sorry for bringing this up again. If not, what do you think?

here's a list of all the missions. all known ones and probably all that exist.
http://crusaders-of-the-lost-idols.wikia.com/wiki/Missions
actually there's a better list somewhere that says who's needed on every mission. when i get home i'll edit this post

there's a similar page with all 46 crusaders and their attributes
http://crusaders-of-the-lost-idols.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Mission_Tags
and again there's a MUCH better page somewhere that shows all 46 in a big grid
when i get home i'll post that too

Thanks, Raymond. I know about those lists. And to be honest, I am getting better in remembering the tags of certain crusaders (especially the rare healer and magic ones). All I was suggesting was to integrate the information into the game. Especially since there is a "Guide Book" already in there. I thought this might make it easier for newer players. I for one only discovered the wiki three or four months into the game.

ok but here's one of those better lists. not sure where the other is, i have downloaded it as a spreadsheet.

http://sidben.github.io/CotLICheatSheet/

p.s. in game information is of less usefulness then offline sources as when in game and trying to do something you don;t want to have to stop right there to open the guidebook or something. offline sources can be opened in an other browser or browser window or browser tab and be seen side by side.

Thanks so much for the link, Raymond! Downloaded the list, updated it and now my fingers are tingling to "improve" it with filters and sortings and other fancy stuff. If only the last time I worked with Databases wasn't that long ago :/

And I completely agree with your opinion that out-of-game-sources are more helpful than in-game when they block the game. But again, for inexperienced player to have their crusaders' tags listed inside the game can be of bigger help since I would think, the majority of players doesn't know about the wiki or list you linked.

Andreas: "This is probably highly subjective, but I still can't get my head around how to have made the "RoboRabbit" achievement."

Do you mean the "Wound-Up-Bunny" achievement? The "Keep a maxed up "Wind-Up-Bunny" buff running for 30 minutes straight" one?

It is not that hard to do. Have the bunny in your formation, purchase the "Wind-Up-Bunny" ability, and click 25 times to max it out. Once it is maxed out, it starts a 15 min timer before the ability resets, but if you click any time during that 15 min, the timer goes back to full. Keep clicking before the timer expires for a half an hour, and you are done. I set my phone timer for 10 min, clicked when it went off, reset my phone, waited ten min, clicked again, waited ten min, got the achievement. The thing is, you can't pull the bunny or let him die, as this resets his ability.

Alternatively, you could get an auto clicker, set it to ten times a second, run it, and go read a book or something for a half an hour.

Thanks Raymond, and thedude for your posts.

Again, my initial post were ideas of how to improve the gaming experience for newer players. I don't think, the game is broken or bad because of those ideas missing but just a few ideas to bring in something extra, like alternatives to the fast repeating quests or missions. With a big and comprehensive guide, I also see the challenge of making the game even bigger than it is right now with only very little reward.

thedude, thanks for the hint! That easy, hm? Well, one could say, clicking 2k times isn't a really complex quest either, so paying attention for half an hour or keeping a formation up for that timeframe could reward a few jewels then :-)

Cheers!
Andreas
