Quality of life suggestions: hotkeys and more

Games are supposed to be about having fun, and I'd have a lot more fun playing the game if I wasn't constantly annoyed by the plethora of clicks I have to make to do various things that should only take one. The removal of the "are you sure" popups was a good start, but I think there's a lot more to be done.

New hotkeys:

1 We really need a hotkey to pop up the missions window. I suggest 'm' but it doesn't have to be that.
2 The chest screen. It take a minimum of 3 clicks to open a chest with the multichest button. I should be able to do it in one plus a keypress. I would use 'c'.
3 The talent screen would also be nice to have a hotkey for while we're at it. 't' would work fine.
4 The level all button is nice, but a hotkey for it would be nicer. Probably 'l' but again, it could be something else.
5 Same with the upgrade all button. I suggest 'u'.
6 We really need an escape key, something to close popup windows. Almost every time I pop up the play log, I try to close it by hitting escape. If you can't use escape, 'x' would work fine. I just really want something to close any windows that came up over the formation.

Other stuff:

I change my formation a lot, and missions causes me to do it even more. This includes swapping crusaders from the same seat. I propose that all crusaders in the same seat have the same level. This means that if I level Jim to 200, Pam is also at 200. It's really annoying when I try to jump to a saved formation, but half the crusaders I want haven't been purchased yet because I was using someone else in their seat or even just had the other crusader in that seat up from the run before. To go along with this change, I think hitting the swap button should actually swap the crusaders. If I have Jim in my formation and decide to use Pam instead, when I hit the swap button, Pam should take Jim's place in the formation, rather than simply removing Jim and leaving an empty space.

seems your suggestions have to do with wanting to click less, yet you dont mention doing away with the daily quests that involve clicking either 500, 1000, or 2000 times.....i guess because this is about hotkeys but they're still annoying.

Smash10101: In favour of all six of your suggestions.

A minor remark on the benched crusader's Levels: I agree about it being awesome if they would replace the crusader in formation they replace if unlocked. However, I think buying benched crusaders' levels / unlocking them should still be a separate task. Especially since buying higher levels could mean to juggle your gold savings around quite extensively. However, why not add an option to include benched crusaders with the "level up all" and/or "update all" button to leave the choice which way to go to the player?

@ihatethisfing: to be honest, I tend to pile those quests up until I can do two or all three of them at the same time. I know, clicking might be helpful at certain very high levels, but I don't really like it. However, I think, clicking is part of the game and therefore being part of the daily quests makes - sadly, I admit - kind of sense.

i somewhat pile them up too.....but 2k clicks is still annoying and will take a while to get to. dunno if you can have 2 quests asking for 2k clicks at the same time.....that would be hell. i just dont like piling them up and all it does is encourage people to get some sort of auto-clicker....but even with that i'd think its still annoying to have to use for so many clicks.

Regarding benched crusader levels, i think that leveling up every crusader in a seat would work quite nicely, if it were treated as leveling up the seat itself.

Currently, to level up both crusaders in a seat takes x gold to level the one, then you switch and pay x gold again to get the other one up to the same level. If the level all button worked to level up every crusader in a seat, that would currently increase the cost of leveling that way by doubling or tripling, depending.

But, if the leveling system were treated as leveling the 20 seats themselves, then levelling up, say, Reginald to level 25 would result in also leveling Siri to 25. (And if the costs of thier abilities were linked, i suppose they could work the same way, though that would likely annoy those few who deliberately don't buy certain abilities).

If there are 3 people in one bench spot then the cost to level someONE up should be tripled. That's what it would have to be if they implemented this desire. Otherwise you are getting essentially something for nothing.
That is what will annoy everyone.

do not implement this.
thanks
As for the other benched peoples abilities, those too also must be tripled in cost.

Mostly, though, i don't think people switch same-seat crusaders mid-game much unless they are trying to figure out which is best or if they've just sent one off on a mission.

You wouldn't be getting extra idols since only the currently seated crusader's level counts, so i think it would only be a matter of added convenience and not so much getting something for nothing - unless this guy is playing way different than me. For me this change would only very rarely effect me at all - the fact that my hidden crusaders have the same level as the faced one would make very little difference.

please do not make keyboard keys do more then the few that already exist.
how many of you have been typing, thinking you are typing in chat, only to find your formations changing to the 3 different saved formations?

Leveling by seat rather than crusader is totally fair and balanced, and a cost increase would actually make it so you couldn't use the level all button if you wanted to max your idols. It won't increase your idol gain and with missions, I find myself swapping all the time, as well as when I move to a DPS form from a gold one. Linking abilities is probably bad, because sometimes we don't want some of them. We could make a way to disable an already purchased ability, or just not link them.

As for adding more hotkeys, so what if you accidentally type in the game window? It already can mess things up, and if you opened a menu on the first keypress you'd actually mess things up *less*.

As for daily click quests, that's a different discussion, and should have its own thread.
