Thanatos HadesSorry if this is the wrong place for this.
It occurred to me that the lion could get a bonus for " royalty " effects. You know king of the jungle and all. |

RokuMakes sense to me. There is a Lion King objective featuring Artaxes.

SolistusI think this would make him too much of an auto-include with the new extremely powerful royalty buffs from the new event crusaders. He is already probably the best crusader in the game at buffing other crusaders' DPS. Passive Criticals makes Savage Strikes absolutely ridiculous for scaling DPS, and makes his 3% extra crit chance upgrade into a huge "DPS to all crusaders" buff. His formation buff is 75% to an entire row even with just a rare piece of gear; I assume there's an epic version that makes it 100? Another piece of gear gives 40% DPS to all. He's supposed to specialize in boosting critical click damage, but he's better for purely passive/idle DPS buffing than any other crusader in the game if you have even a few points in Passive Crits (and there's literally no reason not to, it's so cheap and soooo powerful)
So basically, he's already a strong contender for the most imbalanced crusader in the game - if you care about DPS OR click damage at all, it's hard to find a reason not to run him. The new crusaders actually caused me to remove him from my formation for the first time I can think of (not counting weird objectives that lock him / randomly disable crusaders periodically / etc.), since he's not royal or female and I was going for absolute max gold gain. If I need to switch to a max DPS formation to finish any of the event objectives, he'll definitely come back in. If he were also royal, the one scenario I've found where Ataxes isn't nerfed to oblivion by an objective and yet it makes sense not to run him from the second I can afford to unlock him until I reset would be gone. Even lions need a little R&R every now and then! Flavor-wise, this seems reasonable... But mechanics-wise, he's already crazy overpowered and being royalty is extremely valuable due to the new event crusaders, so this probably shouldn't happen unless it coincides with a nerf to Ataxes and/or Passive Crits. As it stands, I think it would push royalty stacking over the top and make it the clear best way to build a formation for just about every campaign and objective. |
