As many of you are probably aware, in Pokemon there are a handful of moves that CANNOT miss. Granted, they generally aren't the strongest attacks in the game, but they're typically adequate. Arguably the most well-known is Swift, since it was the only never-miss move in the first Pokemon games.

I think there should be moves like that in Mystic Guardians. Depending on when they are learned by a Guardian, their attack power would probably range from 6-9.

If you were curious, here is a list of existing never-miss moves, along with any significant information. Most are clones of Swift, but some have interesting secondary effect.

Generation 1:
- Swift (normal type, 60 attack power)

Generation 2:
- Vital Throw (fighting type, 70 attack power, always moves last)
- Faint Attack (dark type, 60 attack power)

Generation 3:
- Shock Wave (electric type, 60 attack power)
- Magical Leaf (grass type, 60 attack power)
- Shadow Punch (ghost type, 60 attack power)

Generation 4:
- Magnet Bomb (steel type, 60 attack power)
- Aura Sphere (fighting type, 90 attack power)

Generation 5:
- Clear Smog (poison type, 50 attack power, removes all stat buffs from the enemy)

Erm... we have moves like that already...

Flare
-----
Power: 6
Accuracy: 100%
Effect: Burns the target for 2 rounds.

Well, almost. It can still miss under certain circumstances (but these circumstances are there for a reason!). There will probably be more such attacks in the future.

That's not the same thing.

In Pokemon, accuracy can be reduced, and evasion can be raised. That said, it's hardly a rare thing for a 100% accuracy attack to miss due to certain circumstances.

The purpose of a move like Swift is that it hits regardless of the users accuracy and the opponent's evasion. The only exceptions are when a move like Dig, Fly, or Protect is used.

Of course, we don't have evasion in MG (at least, not yet we don't), but there are already two different moves which reduce accuracy, and that's where never-miss moves come in to counter that strategy.

Plus, Flare got changed to 99%, which is kind of a shame since it's not very strong since it only hits for two turns...

Right now bombs and scrolls cannot miss, but some abilities on the Guardians themselves is certainly a possibility.

Coolies.

Speaking of bombs though, I've tried using some from time to time and find their power quite underwhelming. I don't know what it is, but I had my Firslash (who has pretty good special attack) use a Water Bomb and it didn't seem to do very much damage, even with the opponent having an elemental weakness to it. Honestly, the results didn't seem much different from if I had just used a fire-based attack...
