IhaveQuitI suggest we can level up our achievement badges to boost their bonuses. There will be 100 levels and you will level them up with "achievement gems".
Level 1-50 will boost your achievements by 25%. This means an achievement that gives 1% DPS will start at level 1 and when you upgrade to level 2 you will get 1.25% DPS from that achievement. Level 51-80 will boost your achievements by 50% Level 81-100 will boost your achievements by 100% We'll get "achievement gems" from monsters and they will will drop 1%. Cost to upgrade: Starts at 1 and multiply by 1.5 per level and round up. |

TeschioAchievements give very different bonuses. Who would level a 1% gold find, when there is a 10% one? The cost would be the same, the benefit would not.
And you don't exactly realize how little sense you suggestion makes, do you? NOBODY would EVER be able to purchase a lvl 100 upgrade, because you obviuosly didn't do the math and therefore didn't realize you would require 2.71x10^17 "gems". And not to get lvl 100 from lvl 1, but from lvl 99! I have been playing this game for 230 days, and my monster kill count is 8.9 millions, which would translate in 890000 "gems". To purchase a lvl 100 achievement (from a lvl 99 one, of course), I would need to play for... let me see... almost TWO BILLION YEARS! Can you understand now WHY I tell you that your ideas NEED to be thought through? You CLEARLY didn't think this through, you didn't do the math, and this is the result: if a person started playing this game at the Big Bang, and never stopped for a second, he STILL would not be able to get an achievement to level 100. Come on! |

TeschioOh, sure, try (unsuccessfully) to use irony to cover up the fact you just threw this idea out there, without thinking, and without doing the math. If upgrading an achievement to level 100 takes more than the age of the Universe, MAYBE it's a bad idea. And shows how little thought you put into it. Actually, how little thought you put into ANY suggestion, since you never made a single one without HUGE problems. And this is because your idol count is in two digits, and you spend more time trying to come up with stuff to improve the game than you spend PLAYING, and therefore understanding, the game. If you don't UNDERSTAND how things work, you can't try to improve them. It's like you tried to talk string theory with Stephen Hawking when all you know about string theory is that they mentioned it in the Big Bang Theory show...

I admit I didn't consider the price and just though 1.5x per level would be ok but it's only a small issue to adjust it. Do you like the basic suggestion? leveling up achievements to increase there bonus? Don't worry too much about the numbers because they can be easily adjusted here. |

And if you started playing this game last week, chances are you don't understand it (actually, your suggestions make it clear you do not). Get a grip on the game first, then you can start making suggestions. Right now the impression you give is that of a kid that just says "hey, wouldn't it be cool if...", without actually considering his idea, its implications and ramifications. Suggestions are more than welcome, as long as the author at least tries to put some thought into them.
More on the point at hand, no, I do not like the idea itself. It seems just like a "free" source of DPS and/or gold, but adds nothing to the game itself. Aside from the fact that achievements give very different bonuses, so it makes little sense that their upgrades cost the same, I must say "upgrading achievements" doens't seem right to me: achievements are something you get (achieve...), not something that can be bought or improved. In the end, though, it just ends up doing the exact same thing that Talents do, I can't see the need for a dedicated mechanics (with gem drops and whatever), when the end effect is already implemented (much better) in the Talents. PS: "funny joke"... I would say "joke". We apparently have different ideas of what is funny. |
