Do Ore Mounds (etc) Count?
741 Posts	Link to post - Posted November 18th 2011 at 12:21 AM Nate Dauer After whacking roughly 20 top-level (for me) bushes, a turkey usually appears. We all know that normal "bushes" and "monsters" count towards this spawning rate. What I'm wondering is this: Do things such as the 52 island coconuts, Mr. Smith's ore mounds, and the racing turtles count towards this as well?

I bet anything that costs Energy counts and for me using 389 Energy however I do it will give me a Turkey.

5565 Posts	Link to post - Posted November 18th 2011 at 3:15 PM Raymond when one is NOT Maxed out, it is always a good thing to do some, or all, of the repeatable Quests. I do some 20 all the time, whether or not I'm Maxed out, and only do the other 20 when I'm not Maxed out, I do those a few times before I get close to Max and leave one set of 20 uncashed in for the next time there is a Level Cap increase.
741 Posts	Link to post - Posted November 20th 2011 at 6:49 PM Last Edited November 20th 2011 at 6:58 PM Nate Dauer They've always appeared after whacking 20 level-17 bushes (my current maximum) for me. 17 x 20 = 340, so the requirement had to be close to that. I whacked 13 25-energy things (Cave Bats, Thorium Mounds, Seismology Readings), then moved to the Bushy Woods (the very first zone) and began whacking level-1 bushes one by one. I whacked 8 of them before a turkey appeared. That amounts to 333 energy when my top-level bushes are level-17. EDIT: I re-tested this by whacking 20 level-15 bushes and 3 level-1 bushes (333 energy). Same results.
5565 Posts	Link to post - Posted November 22nd 2011 at 3:51 PM Raymond What I can't figure out is how that value relates to your Energy Max Value, mine is close to, but not exactly the same as my 1540 divided by 4. It might be 1/4 of what my Energy Max was a few days ago when I was 1 or 2 Levels back. Or is it based on the value of the highest Bushes one can do (whether or not one has the Mana modifier to allow mana whacking every region).
741 Posts	Link to post - Posted November 23rd 2011 at 8:43 PM Nate Dauer I would imagine it is based on your maximum energy minus any energy increases from bonus items, etc. So really, that'd be your level x10 +50 (or however much energy you start the game with). I was level 114 at the time of my last post.
