we need a flag message/mute/report message function on this forum.
for users who are just arguing for an argument's sake.

Abuse is something worth reporting. If someone is being insulting or otherwise abusive, then a way to flag messages would be good.

If someone is arguing just for the sake of arguing, that's not abuse. It's not good, but it's just a part of life.

Do what I do. Unsubscribe from the thread and don't participate.

arguing for the sake of arguing = spam.
I believe one can agree less clutter => points understood/discussion/conclusion reached quicker

No, arguing for the sake of arguing is not spam. Not even remotely.

If someone has an opinion, then they can express it. That is absolutely the way that it has to be. Even if we're talking about people I disagree with, even if they are ignoring the things I say and continuing to argue, they still have the right to their opinion.

It takes two to argue. If they're refusing to stop arguing with you, then you are refusing to stop arguing with them.

Just leave the thread. You don't win by convincing them to agree with you, you win by leaving.

thx for your opinion. we agree to disagree.
mute does not stop the person expressing an opinion. it just stops me from seeing it.

I think the mute function is very helpful. it is already available on the armorgames chat. it is available on league of legends in game chat. other game developers have done it. it's available on facebook as blocking. it would make this forum a more friendly environment also.

"mute does not stop the person expressing an opinion."

Unless they're insulting or degrading other people, that's okay. None of us have any right to stop another person from expressing their opinion.

Just report said user to the devs directly. They're already closed one thread because of them, I'm sure more will follow at this rate.

I'll post my input here as well in case the moderators/developers didn't get a chance to read it on my other post.

I'm all for the report/flag message but at this point people will likely abuse the function, since they will flag a message in hope of silencing the person's idea because the 'flag-er' disagree with the message. White knights that have no logically argument and easily offended will flag just because they do not like the message. Too many kids on this board that will flag people for having an opposing view.

I'm criticizing your idiotic ideas, if you do not want others to comment on your ideas, you should've wrote the ideas on a notepad and read them to yourself."

this is the most explicit one. comment with one purpose only - inflame and insult. There are plenty others using sarcastic remarks and cheap logic which does not aid decision making. it just takes too much time to filter and explain.

I maintain.
muting does not stop anybody from posting a comment. it just stops the particular user from seeing another person's post.

Hm, mute in a forum would be weird. Someone would post something and you wouldn't see it, while the rest would. They might reply to said comment and you would be confused and feeling left out. Take the thread about EP sharing for example. You wouldn't know when and why the discussion changed from EP to opening chests.. I'd say just ignore whoever you don't like, that's what I do. I only reply to those that have something important/intellectual to say or ask (for) something in a polite way.

As for flag/report, I'm in. I guess someone could spam the feature, but there's an easy way to see when someone's using it right and when someone's abusing it. If I only report a specific person all the time, Erika will understand that it might be personal. If many people report the same person though, then it's probable that that person's a troublemaker. In other forums they usually give 3 strikes; one day ban, 1 week ban and then perma ban from ever posting in this forum again. It would require a couple active moderators though that the devs trust.

All in all, I agree that the forums need a little change. Just yesterday I was discussing about it in Kong chat and we concluded that it's not really worth posting ideas here if a troll just comes in and stirs things up, derailing every thread and arguing for no apparent reason, let alone constant name calling others that ignore him or try to talk reason to him. Better post suggestions elsewhere, like Kong forums, where there are more moderators and there are functions like "report abuse".

Pretty sad that we have to talk about the game elsewhere and not in the game's official forums, just cause a troll is allowed to do as he likes..locking a thread or two is not the solution, unless we want all the threads to end up the same way.

You seem to have no problem when Kenshin mock and insult me, I hope you can tell Thursday come after Tuesday and Wednesday. Everyone seem to turn a blind eye to Kenshin's comment, but go after me, that seem a bit bias to me. If Kenshin talk to me like a child, I can do the same thing to him, maybe then he'll learn to a thing or two about 'treating others like you want to be treated.'

If you didn't understand you should try reading the posts again, I can try to explain why but I don't think you'll listen. It's cool how you went on 'Lairs' thread about a 'buy formation button' just to ask/suggest that unbenched/swapped crusaders should count toward idol reward.

'Pretty sad that we have to talk about the game elsewhere and not in the game's official forums, just cause a troll is allowed to do as he likes..'
It sound like you are oppressed. It sound like you cannot start a new thread or make a post. It sound like you cannot express your ideas or talk about the game. Oh, wait...

'locking a thread or two is not the solution, unless we want all the threads to end up the same way.'
What does locking a thread have to do with you talking about the game?

Not much can be done wcli456, just ignore those you don't like and reply only to game-related stuff with constructive feedback. Other than that, you could always reach out to Erika and express your concerns in private. Dunno what platform you're on but she drops by every now and then on Kongregate.

if you ignore people they will shut up or go elsewhere to find the attention they desperately crave . shunning is very effective .

It is more fun to point out the excuses that these trolls come up when they do not have a logically argument. Best part is confronting them, then they roll over and cry victim.

Notice how the user desperately try to play the blame game with no valid reason? Making things up and playing the victim, the sad part is people took the bait, hook, line, and sinker.

people have been / will be banned when the Developers get a chance to actually read what's going on here and who is constantly critical or unhelpful just for the sake of hearing their own voice.
bye bye. nice knowing you. oh, and I laugh that you always have to have the last word, try to keep that up when you can't anymore. HA

The literal amount of irony in this one post alone is mindblowing.

I didn't realize that being 'constantly critical' is bad. Sound like you want to silence anyone with an opposing view. Unhelpful? That seem to be your opinion.

'unhelpful just for the sake of hearing their own voice.'
Can I say this to you? Or that will earn me the troll status and ban-worthy?

'bye bye. nice knowing you'
Sound like you are speaking for the developers.
