Newer players need a little help and search for hints/tips here did not come up with too much here so I thought I would make a newer thread. Being only lvl 105, I am "wet behind the ears", but here are things I have learned along the way and things others players have taught me (credit given where due) that might help you as well.

I play on bigfish platform so may very a bit from your game. Please feel free to add your suggestions or how your game/Facebook platform is different to help clarify. If you totally like to find out everything on your own, this post will be a spoiler for you!

For area, item, event and quest info visit the Bushwhacker WIKI at:
http://bushwhacker2.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

Penning animals: Let your pets out of that crowded sack!

Bushes can help hold them in, as well as hay, hedges, fencing that matches your ranch fence (I use that for my horsies) garden fencing and I even saw a few really "rich" players who bought gold bars and other expensive giant gold bricks to hold them in. Be sure to place them tightly together, as it may look closed in but gaps may still exist. (When you are top level 280, you get gold instead of XP, so they are always looking for ways to spend it)

No matter which you use, the more pets you have the more likely they will escape. (Plus you have to put them back after using them) The flying ones might even stay penned in …(maybe.)

Travel tips:

From/to anywhere: Click on the world globe to get to any island or unlocked area. Then click on the area map to access a certain field.

From house: blue teleporter to last played area

Return to last area played: orange arrow

To get to Amicus Isle: From the “visit merchants” when you first log in, from visit merchants when speaking to the town crier, From the teleporter portal east side of the commons, or the world globe lower view.

Amicus isle to a less busy island: click the yellow“i” at the end of the chat to change to a less busy island and have more chance of getting the coconuts and shells. courtesy player HorseDancer1

Bigfish player's Power packs and Amicus Island tokens:
You are limited to 5 small energy packs, so it's use-them-or-lose-them time. You get more every 24 hours at midnight Pacific time. You are also limited to 25 large energy packs and 200 AI tokens. Earn more and they don't count. Hint Courtesy dinsb01

Unique pet eggs:
Keeping 2 same eggs in inventory will keep you from getting another of the same type Hint Courtesy chevalis who has 200+ pets

Energy enhanced:
When close to leveling up, or, at night when you are done playing the game, equip poot and all energy trinkets as it gives more energy space in your bar. You can reequip your normal trinkets after using some of the “extra “energy. Hint Courtesy countrygal2

Clicking to move:
Just hold down the left button and drag the cursor. The character moves loads faster and doesn't keep stopping. Hint Courtesy HorseDancer1

Hermit quests:
It is not a 'necessity' to finish the Evergreen Forests (EF). I left fields incomplete there on purpose and returned once a day for the hermit quests, which you can only fulfill in the EF. If you did the same it might not feel like a complete waste of energy hunting down those items.... Good luck! Hint Courtesy rob_nobody

*Addendum: Nates quest in the dense forest also works for hermit quest, so perhaps save it for later to complete hermits request. (there are no grubs, however)

Use mana and power before getting quest rewards satchels:
Power (orange bar) or Mana (blue bar) in 2 brown paper bags can have your bars filled up as a quest reward. I just got the dubious "honour" of receiving the achievement of 1,000 power points wasted this way! (now I use the max mana/power trinkets before I get a satchel, just in case)

lei your friends quest:
On Amicus Isle, you can lei the NPCs, even those that give you quests and the robot, should you get placed on a lonely island because the main one is full, or have to change worlds as all the poop has already been scooped!

No harvester farming:
The hay, garden fencing and decorative iron look good surrounding your farm plots, but there is a second purpose. If you do not have or wish to buy the harvester, the fencing allows you to do your harvesting and cultivating a wee bit faster as well. Credit Discus3

Tiles/carpet pieces:
Can be used to make mosaics and other neat things, like a patio deck. They are not just stepping stones and decorative carpet, as I also placed my little pond on my patio and I didn't even have to dig a hole! =)

Fishing hints:
I am unable to use meaty bait that really high levels use, so here are some strategies for those of us with lesser type bait.

When Amicus Isle (AI) has really low levels of doubling fish probability, consider using the fish spot that you may have near you. The wait times are sometimes shorter. This also means more opportunity to catch the items each fishing hole offers. (listed in bushwhacker2 wikia under Fishing) EG: The upper evergreen forest was 6 to 10 seconds whereas AI can average 11seconds, but Amicus fishing is worth the wait when you have higher chances of double energy.

There are good "spots" (fishing holes/circles) that make the fishing areas better on AI. (Remembering your chances of junk doubles tool... and I have caught as many as 7 in a row, some doubled. (experimenting, as usually I move!) If you get a couple of junk, move to the far side of that area and fish. If you get more junk, move to another area.

I have had areas where the good spots also come in multiples, so if you find a good area with lots of good fishing holes stick with it. (when you leave AI the areas reset so may not be a good spot again after you return) There does seem to be a time when each spot dwindles back to more junk, so when it does, move on.

You can manipulate the fishing areas a bit. EG: If you find that a certain number of good spots are on the left, work right to left will move the fishing spots to the good area, so you can increase your chances of getting the best fish.

If you are going to be fishing for a long time, another strategy is to use the cheaper "best gold" bait, as you will still get energy fish, and how many fish you get in each area can be pretty good indication of your best area. Use the cheapest bait you can buy for quest items fishing as well, to save gold costs.

Having said all of that, remember it is random, regardless of the pointers and some days I got as few as 70 energy doing every single spot on the Island, or 150 energy in one area alone. When low amounts of fish are obvious, and junk too plentiful, do a refresh and hope for better randomness! (The refresh hint is from a top fisher, pikachu__)

Nice tips. Some of them are platform specific (e.g., energy pack behavior), though, so you might want to identify which platform you play on.

The fishing "spots" stuff could be simple superstition: what humans do when observing random events. I haven't heard of any statistically relevant data that supports any location-based influence on the fishing results. On the other hand, it gives you something to "do" when faced with the drudgery of fishing, so no harm if it keeps you interested.

You know, the pets don't actually escape at all, you are imagining it, really.
Try this, when you see one is not penned in whatever you made, exit the ranch area, or the game, and go back to the ranch, and guess what? he's back where he belongs.

Hi Fineous. 1) corrected/added. 2) You are so right...humans look for patterns. But this human has a terrible memory and writes things down, and takes detailed notes, so not as anecdotal as you might think. Its also why I placed a disclaimer at the end. I fish every day so that was "my experience" as I stated.

I know that once you get "trophy" fish and meaty bait it alters what you "want" so I also added this is for lower level players only. I see there are best areas, and some are mostly junk. It may be random but I have done full courses around at different times of the day and see there CAN be a difference. Don't knock it til' you try it ;.)

It worked for me, so may also work for others, however, to all who are reading, I will reiterate the fishing section is not a definitive guide. Do your own thing and have fun!

Raymond, there are few ranches I see that all animals remain penned, when there are tons of them. (And yes I see a lot as I love to visit and snoop on ranches and golf courses)

A player recently was excited I wanted to see his ranch and pets so he penned them all in. (level 280 and all unique animals plus many duplicates so well over 200) A few escaped each time even though he was using the GIANT gold bricks, but some flyers flew over it I guess heheh. When I visited, there were so many, whenever they were in groups nearest me, my game flickered, and eventually even froze with a black background. Guess I was imagining it all! ahahah I promise that if I am wrong, I will return to edit.

Also, twice I had to redo my farm and fencing as I get stuck in it, yet other times I can farm from a screen distance away. (and I now use the tiny and easy to place garden fencing, that have visually far less space between than the hay I used to use, go figure?)

Great tips, kitty! Just my 2 cents about the fishing ... I've always believed that what we catch while fishing is random or sheer luck, but I do agree with you, that there are some spots that seem to be better than others (just as in fishing in real life). For that reason, I have my two favorite fishing spots on AI that I keep going back to.

Here are more:
There are completion flags for each area to check to see if you missed anything. Blue for area completion and red for secret bonus area (SBA) (I hadn't noticed the red flags until recently and had been using wiki and my inventory to confirm ! *blushes*)

Mini Golf Bonus clown piece : Every 20 hours you or visitors can get a reward of energy, power and mana for getting it in the hole the first time of the day! This is available to all players who visit anyone's golf course or ranch set-up. Visit Top-rated courses to see who has the bonus piece and change it up every day as some are players are very talented and made it a sight to see, literally! Erika stated all game platforms are linked so visit hoochmoose, rumbitothecore to see what I mean.

(Big fish players can visit forums for completed courses, their rating & clown bonus:

If the pet you have equipped is at its maximum level, equip one at a lower level BEFORE turning quests in to Vincent, the PAGAS guy. Don't forget to switch back to your max level pet. Tip courtesy Chuck_Havens

If you are fairly new and do not yet have the trinkets that can speed your character, or do not yet have a horse that can increase speed, remember to use the auto-run feature in the menu. (the cog/options next to inventory) Another tip is to click beside the bush/item prior to whacking it. You are dragged slower to the item if you click on it first and may go noticeably faster if you click beside it. (Computers and servers vary, however) This tip is awesome during events where you need to race to beat other npcs, eg: Easter egg hunt.

Use the Island tokens to buy a moonstone, then trade it to 1024-ish citrines. From those Iget at least 100K in coins playing TDz, plus energy bags, puzzle pieces more gems to turn into citrines. It's a much better deal than using the tokens to buy 25K in coin. Credit to player rumbitothecore

You can only click on the feeds that will improve the currently available bonuses for your equipped mount. There are four available at a time, but 18 different bonuses in all... so any feed that improves one of the other 14 will be grayed out. Hay will randomize the four available bonuses, which might allow you to use some of the other feeds. Switching mounts will give you different feed/bonus options as well. Pristine feed will override the four available bonuses and guarantee that the mount will have the associated bonus at its next level-up. The four available bonuses are replaced by the one-and-only bonus associated with the pristine feed, and the probability is set to 100%. Credit to player Finieous

Pet xp: If the pet you have equipped is at max level, equip one at a lower level BEFORE turning quests in to Vincent, the PAGAS guy. Don't forget to switch back to your max level pet. Courtesy player Chuck_Havens

Another good time to equip a lower level pet is when Vincent gives you the "Chasing Critters" quest Courtesy player Discus3

XP Tip: To increase your XP, go to Misty and start the find an egg quest. When you find it give it to her and say that you don't want to hatch it, then repeat the find an egg quest. At my level, it gives about 8000 XP per egg. I find that on good days I can get up to 7 eggs in a day on bad days it is generally around 3. Courtesy player meinaz

You are never too old or experienced to learn new tricks. I was surprised to find that a top level player did not know that chat on AI had a history located to the far right of chat. (the triangle) Learn something new every day and keep your mind fresh, even if it means learning a new hint for Bushwhacker 2 =)

You're right about never being too experienced to learn new tricks. One new thing that I learned recently is that when you open the area progress map in a quest area, you can actually click on a field to teleport to it. Until now, I was just using it to view my progress and the layout of the fields. Duh!

except of course when the game itself opens up the area progress upon completing a quest or puzzle or getting a custom items somewhere, the game opened area progress will not allow you to teleport anywhere within that zone.

And more from my fellow Bigfish players:

The 5 small energy packs refill around midnight PDT (usually more or less 10 min after) Courtesy player thaliamin (May apply to Bigfish players only?)

If you get the swimming pool for the ranch and do not have enough land cleared, it will fit in front of your house. Also will fit inside your house - an indoor swimming pool is awesome! Courtesy player Discus3

The tip that made me very happy to discover, was that I could make runes I wouldn't use (power and gold runes) only to disenchant them. This way, I could sometimes get white or gray or black powder instead of red or yellow. And if they were enough, I would use them again to make runes and disenchant them again. I have got back a lot of white-gray-black powder vials this way. And I use the white ones for Greatest Mana/Gems/Energy runes that give 15% odds. My priorities with runes are first mana, then less nothings, then gems and then energy.

2nd tip, if you get a VIP voucher, the best deal is the one that gives you higher odds for rare items in satchels. Many eggs and level up pet treats have come my way using this. Courtesy player FarfalaBarilla

"Raymond Jerome You know, the pets don't actually escape at all, you are imagining it, really. Try this, when you see one is not penned in whatever you made, exit the ranch area, or the game, and go back to the ranch, and guess what? he's back where he belongs."

Hi Raymond, my pet pony was all I had penned before but added all the horses I was not using. Twice now, when I returned I had to replace one of the dark coloured horses, and he is still unpenned when I return each time , from exiting the game entirely ... not just a refresh or return to the ranch. I do have a very vivid imagination, but not quite that literally! PS: The pen is fencework matching the ranch fence and each piece is placed as tightly together as possible.

I thinkit would be nice if, one is at a certain level, you can get a hint as to where the secret areas are NOT
