So.. I needed to get 10 bags today for one of my quests. 31 fishing attempts later I finally had 10 bags. This is crazy. They really have to improve the odds of getting what you're after with the fishing quests. Some days you are stuck fishing forever.

also, you can use trinkets and runes to increase your quest odds

during quests I find it best to throw out the baby with the bath water.
1. use the cheapest, not the best.
2. use energy bait when actually trying to get quest things that are gold, junk, scuba...
3. use gold bait when trying to get fish for a quest and for the tough tuna one too...
4. try to not have all the fishing quests available actually in progress at the same time. i.e. if you have scuba and shopping bags... at the same time you will find you not getting one till the other is done or mostly done, and you seem to get non quest stuff more when multiple fishing quests are happening at once.
5. on days when there are 6 fishing quests not even counting 2 on amicus, just give up or be prepared to accept 1 quest do it, turn it in, accept another, do it, lather, rinse, repeat... for perhaps a half hour total. including teleporting if you do most (other then hermits) on amicus.
