Right now it says 9600 found and we still need total 647,000 pages...so it will take awhile to achieve..

The community quest lasted as long as it took players to hit the goal, and then it was just unlocked for future players who come along. There's no time limit on completing the quest. It's just about how much the players on the different websites want to help out the communities in getting to the unlock of the island permit.

That's assuming that players don't give up on this quest before then. BTW, on CNE games, we have 13,930 out of 499,500 needed. At that rate it will take us 36 days to achieve.
