A few minutes ago we got into a heated discussion in guild chat about how exactly the loot roll works after you beat a mission. Different theories were put forward but the fact remains that I can't make sense of the ideas that are floating around. In an effort to finally dismiss all doubt I will try to get to the bottom of this problem.

So how does the loot roll work? My guildmates and I came to one conclusion: it definitely doesn't work how you think it does on first glace. On all of the following questions I would like answers, even if there is one already, I could very well be wrong after all.

Does it give you a 20% chance of each item shown? Most definitely not. Everyone agrees on this. This is not an honest system.

Does it give you one of the items shown? Someone from CNE has replied to my Kong comment on this point, stating that yes all of the shown items are a possible reward.

Are the odds of getting particular items weighted? Anecdotal evidence in my two weeks of playing suggest that yes, there is some kind of weighting going on that we don't see. Not exactly sure where/when this happens though.

Can you get items not shown on the cards? I haven't seen this happen before but several people in my guild tell me it does happen. Would like clarification on this.

Is the decision which item you get made before you pick a card? This some people tell me is what happens. See below.

Is the decision which item you get made before the cards are even shown? No way to be sure from my point of view. If this or the previous option is true, we're all clicking cards for no reason at all. That would suck.

I might have missed a possibility, please add some if you have them. I want to know what is happening here.

I feel like something has to be affecting it. I got every piece of desert loot for my wizard within about a week except for gloves. Since then I've been doing 5 desert runs every day for close to 2 weeks now, and no matter how many times it appears in the possible loot, sometimes even twice I still haven't gotten them, yet I've gotten all the other pieces several times now.
