Can someone explain how shards (from the Quarry) add into your stats? I have been watching to see what effect they have on my stats and Battle Rating, but even when I level them up, I am seeing no difference. I would assume they would have some effect...... or else why would we do it?

Oh, In case it matters, I am a wizard and the shards I have equipped are AP and Health.
