Erika/AlynianaAt last, Mme. Finklebottom's Revenge joins the rest of the campaign pack, with a slew of new objectives including the tier 1 and 2 11th-slot objectives. Beat them to unlock Arenvarr the Beheaded, and Bonus Idols for the campaign.
When you've unlocked Arenvarr, the Beheaded, they occupy seat 29 on the bench, and their gear will drop from opening normal Silver and Jeweled chests. Get a sneak peek of the objectives on the official blog! Good luck! |

AnimenutI haven't gotten Arenvarr's legendary gear yet, but they seem incredibly powerful already. Between it's and Xyg's levelable abilities making a perpetual feedback loop, they seem like a nasty combo.

TeschioUnlike Xyg's, though, Arenvarr's ability is additive, it loses effectiveness after a while. Still a good crusader, don't get me wrong, I need to experiment with it to see if it's worthy of taking Sashimi's place (but Sashim buffs Bruno, so I'm not that sure...).

AnimenutI just got done testing it for myself after getting 2/3 of it's legendaries and actually got on the forums to edit my previous comment.
Aren is...uh...not great. Not terrible, obviously, but nowhere near compares to Sashimi. I hadn't properly used Aren before now and thought his ability was multiplicative, hence my excitement, but seeing how it's additive AND has a level cap? It hard-caps at 10K% gold buff. At least in my formation, Sashimi gives 10x the amount of gold Aren does even with a maxed out ability. Originally, I was planning to have Sashimi in the formation until end-of-run (specifically for Bruno) and then switch out for Aren at the end when it can uber-stack his ability, but seeing as it's just generally worse than Sashimi in every way, killed that idea quickly. |

AnimenutLast Edited July 28th 2019 at 12:18 PM Posting this as it's own comment to make it more easily seen by the devs. If that's an issue, let me know and I'll edit into my previous comment and erase this one.
To make Arenvarr worthy of his far-right position on the bench, here are a few ideas... -Cut the effect down to 25% per use, but make it multiplicative. That makes the end result about 5,000,000,000%, which is more in-line with crusaders of his implied stature. -Cut the effect down to 15% per use, make it multiplicative, and remove the cap. This makes the effect about 10,000,000% at level 115, which is significantly lower than my previous suggestion, but due to the fact that this ability can be mimicked by Mindy and is multiplicative, the lower base amount offsets the benefit of removing the cap and being mimickable, whereas the previous suggestion is much higher but still hard-caps, removing it's ability to scale in the long-run. -Keep the effect the same, make it multiplicative, but reduce the cap to 30 while making each individual level SIGNIFICANTLY more costly to buy. This reduces the gold buff from my first suggestion down to just above 1,000,000,000, which makes it somewhat stronger than my second suggestion, but while still having a cap, and the increased gold cost per level makes it harder to reach that cap. -This one gets a little more ridiculous. Make one of it's legendary gear abilities buff it's ability. Assuming the legendary ability starts at buffing the ability by 10%, change the ability's buff per level to 1%, which means that at legendary level 8, the buff would be 1.408% per level (1.1 x 2^7 x 0.01), meaning that at level 100, if the effect was rounded to 1.41%, the effect would be about 800,000,000,000,000%, which is WAY higher than any other suggestion, but, I mean, that's what you get with legendary levels mixed with multiplicative math lol EDIT: Some mathematical fixes. |
