Jenny MorseI lost the Valentines that my son sent me because I did not login and collect them before the event was over! I don't remember seeing anything about them having to be claimed before the event was over. And if I had claimed I would have lost the daily hammers because he was trying to finish this thing all the way up to the last second. He literally sent me those last 17 valentines 1 minute before the time was up :( I think we should have at least had the chance to grab those last few valentines today. Some people do not sit on the computer all day long. They get on, play their hammers and leave. So if someone sent them some after they played yesterday they just lost what was sent to them.

Lisa EdwardsThere was a note on the main page posted last thursday stating that the event was over yesterday!! As with other events that have been done, if you will lose stuff if it is not played by end of event!!

Karole PigeaultIf I may add my two cents...... I can understand valentines tokens expiring once the event is over. It's up to us to be sure to spend them all before the end of the event.
However, those of us whose reset occurs in the middle of the night have received valentines from friends in different time zones who are able to play right up until reset. I'm sorry, but I don't think I should be expected to stay up until 3am (eastern time) if I want to redeem valentines prizes that are set to expire shortly after they've been sent. I think we should have had until the following reset to collect our prizes. |

Amy McQuain FlorenceIn the past, the game (especially EB1) has let us redeem "gifts" sent by other players for a few days after the event was over. I do not understand why this was not the case this time.
Also, the opening "news" screen STILL shows that there are 4 days left in the Valentine event. Although I realized this was not true, I wonder how many people got tripped up by the "old news"? |

Amy McQuain FlorenceI agree with Karole. I play EB in the evening and my husband plays it in the morning. The 14 Awesome Valentines I sent him at 9PM Eastern were sent after he had already gone to bed. When he logged in to collect them this morning, each time he clicked on one it said that the gift had expired. Bummer.

Carolann QuinnLisa, you are wrong as I do remember being able to claim prizes that were sent after the event. I too started with EB1. I also noticed that I did not get the slot machine at the beginning of the event. I was going for 1 year without missing a day but losing those 3 Valentines plus the loss of the slot machine plus the fact that I am stuck on one level trying to get boots for a week now has me not wanting to play.

Colleen GillanCarolann, the instances of being able to claim prizes after the event ended and/or keeping the store open were few and far between. It definitely was not a regular occurrence. I’m really not sure what you mean by “loss of the slot machine†at the beginning of the event.

Jenny MorseAnd to add further insult to all of this I just came back into the game to play some more of my hammers as I was too tired to play them last night. I had 10 Valentines from my son and one from the developers waiting to be opened. They weren't there last night when I came in. So now I'm wondering how many more were sent but did not get to me yet. And why, if we can't open them, are the developers still sending them? And yes the tokens ended yesterday but nowhere did it say the valentines themselves would expire also. And as someone who still plays EB everyday I can tell you that anything like valentines or presents where you get something from opening them, you still have a few days to open all of your gifts before they are taken off the screen.
And that note on the main screen saying that we have 4 days left is exactly what tripped my son up. When I told him yesterday that it was the last day it kept telling me that the screen said there was 4 days left. That is why he was working until reset to try and finish the quest. |

Karole PigeaultCan anyone remember if we were able to open stockings that friends sent to us, the day after the christmas event was over?
I do remember though, that during the harvest event last fall, any star and hammer bushes we were able to plant before the end of the event were automatically "harvested" for us and added to our total star and hammer count once reset came around. While I agree that the store should be closed after the event is over, I also think that these sorts or "pending" or "action-required" token purchases, should not expire. At least not immediately following the end of the event. |
