Karen, Center of the Universe and Groklok/Sisaron's buffs

lasnoufleHi
Apparently Karen is counted as an affected crusader by Grok's Eligible Receivers when using Center of the Universe and not being directly in front of Grok. I'm assuming something equivalent happens with Sisaron's Loose Magic, but since I don't have Karen, I can't verify. Anyway, because Center of the Universe applies for 50% of the buff, that causes a bit of the overall buff to be "lost". Example if Grok's ER boosts 200% overall based on description, and there's only Hermit in front of him: - Hermit gets 100% boost - Karen gets 50% boost Now I know that technically speaking, this is completely correct based on Grok's skill description. However it does feel like a bit wrong, since using Karen along these buffs causes the buff effects on other crusaders to diminish, which is not the case for any other buff. One could easily argue that in the case above, it would feel "right" that Hermit still gets 200% and Karen 100%. And if 2 crusaders in front of Grok, they'd get 100% each and Karen would get 50%, etc. So - was it really intended to work like that? Or was it overlooked during design? |

snowLast Edited April 13th 2017 at 2:28 AM The effect of center of the universe is affected by the quality of her gear, it's not 50% flat. Also, there are plenty other buffs whose effects are divided by the number of buffed crusaders.

Erika/AlynianaAs Grok's buff and the ones from others are considered beneficial buffs that Karen is not getting from her place in the formation, she will grab them with her Center of the Universe.

MoonRocksLast Edited April 17th 2017 at 4:04 AM For Grok, Sisaron, SQ, etc. the ability says that the bonus in divided by the number of affected crusaders, so I agree that Karen should count since she is affected.
But I don't think she should count for Turkey's Short Circuit ability, which says it zaps a random "adjacent" crusader. If I remember correctly, in the past she was able to receive Turkey's buff without pulling it away from any adjacent crusader, giving a total of 4 crusaders able to be zapped at once. Now she acts as an adjacent crusader when she is not, which is incorrect in my opinion. Since in the case of Grok, she isn't a target of his buff like the column in front of him, she just receives it and is affected by it. If she was targeted she would take the buff at full. Now she is being targeted by Turkey instead of just receiving it, which is inconsistent. Now this all translates to a loss of the buff from turkey for about 25% time (10s/40s) if you are using a single dps with ~100% of your total. It is not very significant and does not diminish the effectiveness of Turkey, but it is annoying to see constant fluctuations in dps. |

AndreasI'm not sure how long you are playing the game, but don't worry about fluctuating numbers and values. I have Cindy the Cheer-Orc in my formation and geared up so that she buffs the formation's DPS with every kill in every level. I have Mindy mimicing multiple Gold Buff Crusaders which changes the Gold Bonus every few seconds.
I got used to it ;) |
