I just started playing last week (still angry that I don't have more time to get Arachnobuddy and Insight), and I'm looking for the other Crusaders that I keep seeing on YT and other places such as Queen Siri in the event this weekend. I really would like to know how can I get these other Crusaders in my squad? I have tried to search on Google and can't find anything.

Two ways:

1. recruit them during an event or
2. recruit them from missions.

You'll want to work on unlocking the tier 2 talent "doing it again" ASAP as that is required to recruit t2 crusaders during events.

Yeah it's just very difficult because being as though I just started, my crusaders don't have much dps to get to 300 from the rings and enchantments. I only have 36% from the rings and they don't have many enchantment points on them. Also, I only have 355 Idols :(. I wish they gave some extra time to complete it or there was another way to get the other crusaders besides waiting for an event or hoping they pop up on the missions.

As a tip to help you along your way to faster progress, never be shy about resetting. Don't worry about pushing one or two extra areas per run. The common rule of thumb is that as SOON as you stop instantly killing enemies, that is when you reset. Your idols come from constant, repeated resets, so don't put too much stock in trying to make a single, huge reset because the time and effort needed to push only a few extra areas is time better spent starting a new run insta-killing enemies. 10 minutes pushing 5 areas, or 10 in a new run? Don't reset too early, of course. You want to get as far as possible. Just don't waste too much time pushing the last 5-10 areas where you're not insta-killing. Believe you me, resetting often for sliiiightly smaller amounts might feel counter-intuitive, but after your thousandth reset and you know better for yourself, you'll be glad you were told this nice and early.

Right! That's exactly what I was thinking I should do. I will definitely do that from now on. I still don't think I have enough time to get to tier 2 of the even :(. I keep sending my best Crusaders out on missions to boost their dps even further, but some of those missions can be LONG and eat up time. 2 days and 15 hours will fly by before you know it. I'm also worried about that climb to 300!

Don't worry events repeated every year. But you always can get missed event crusaders in missions.

You should be able to reach area 300 faaaiiiirly quickly (in terms of being an idle game, at least) as long as youkeep up with opening chests to make sure your crusaders are properly geared. Play around with different formations to see which is best for you. Gear pretty much defines this game, so be aware of what buffs each crusader's gear gives them, and familiarize yourself with each crusader's individual abilities. Your ideal formation will change DRASTICALLY as you get new gear. As long as you're resetting often, the idols will gather quickly. Early on, they make a huge difference, considering each idol buffs your gold find by 1% and DPS by 3%. So stocking up a lot quickly will do wonders for you.

For talents, you'll want to focus on a few fairly evenly since it takes a lot of idols to max out any single one, and since the buffs are additive, your first level of a talent will make a bigger difference than the 30th level of the same talent, so it pays to spread your talent growth fairly evenly until you begin getting more idols per reset. For a newcomer, I suggest leveling "Passive Criticals" (the one that buffs DPS based on crit chance) since nothing else in the upper tier really does much for DPS, other than the cooldown talent, which you won't really be able to make use of until you've opened a ton of chests. Bush Whacker's gear buffs crit chance, so he'll actually be able to buff your formation if you level that talent and have a decent sword on him.

General tips: For starters, Artaxes is an amazing DPS-buffer, Emo Werewolf is probably the best DPSer early-game until you get decent gear for the higher-ups and better gold find, but since one of his buffs requires him to be away from all humans, consider using Sarah, the Colelctor. By all means, use what works for you, but as a personal suggestion (depending on your gear), a good formation for the starting chapter (triangle formation) includes...

Back 4 slots: Kaine (because "A-ha!" for gold find), Artaxes, Princess, Gold Panda

Second-from-back 3 slots: Sarah, Lumberjack, Merci

Second-from-front 2 slots: Khouri(adjacent to Werewolf), Sasha

Front slot: Thunder King

Like this, Sarah gets buffed three different ways, Kaine and Panda give good gold buffs, and Thunder King is a great tank being healed by Khouri. Merci's slot is a free one. Doesn't have to be him. In this formation, especially early-game, Merci makes the least difference since his "Deflect Evil" is really weak at the start.

Very good info! I already applied some of them. I did mess up when I respeced idols once for the achievement and piled up what I could on the Speed Run talent so they could get shorter missions. So now I only have 2 respecs left. I already use Metal Soldierette in the front and have her epic gear (from purchase promos). I think her dps is ridiculously high enough to carry me to area 300, but she still needs more.

WOW! I had no idea that idols boost DPS and Gold find! I will stack them like you guys said ASAP! Where is that info written because I never saw it. :O

If you hover over your idol count you can see the current boost to dps and gold bonus. And no need to save them, spent idols count towards it.

Yeah, idols help a lot toward buffing yourself early-game. They buff additively, so even if your first reset is only 30 idols, that is a 90% DPS buff and 30% gold buff from your base values, which then, in-turn, helps you get further in your next run. Again, it is additive, so if your second run merits you 50 idols, it is not 150% of the amount you had with the 30 idols, it is 240% of base (30 + 50 idols = 80, then 80% x 3 for DPS and +80% gold find), just to make sure that is clear. And like Snow said, no need to hoard idols. Spend them on talents. all that matters is how many idols you've ever earned, not how many you have unspent. As long as you earned them that is all that matters. You keep the DPS/gold buffs even if you spend them.

Metal Soldierette is definitely a good, well-rounded crusader. Again, this is all up to you since you know what crusaders and gear you have far better than I do, so I am only saying this for a "For your information" purely to let you know, in case the information helps your situation. I personally found it more useful to focus on earlier-slot (further-left) crusader for DPS until I began getting truly-great gear and crusader abilities, primarily because earlier crusaders costs less to level up, and that x4 multiplier per 25 levels is no joke. For example, let's assume that at whatever point you're at, the highest you can level up Soldierette is level 800. That means you'll probably be able to level up Emo Werewolf to about level 1050 with the same amount of gold. That is a difference of 250 levels, or 10 increments of the x4 multiplier stacking multiplicatively 10 extra times. Mathematically, that is X(4^10) where X = Emo's DPs at level 800. Even with Metal Soldierette's epic gear, that difference in multiplicative buffs probably makes Emo better. Of course, this should be tested by you on your own instead of just taking my word for it, but thankfully there is an easy way to test this...

On any run, avoid using Emo (or whatever other crusader you're considering) and Soldierette until you have enough gold to get whoever if farthest-right to level 200. Bring both to level 200, buy all their skills, and then level both up in increments of 25 (hold Ctrl + Shift when clicking) until neither of those two crusaders can be leveled up by 25 anymore, then compare their un-buffed DPS to eachother. That will show you which gives you more DPS for the amount of gold you can currently earn, and should be what you use. You want to avoid putting both crusaders in your formation for two reasons: 1) Other crusaders' formation abilities will affect the resulting DPS values, and 2) You don't have any levels on the talent that reduces time to get XP, so this certainly wouldn't take 8 hours to test, BUUT whenever you do start reducing XP gain time, you don't want XP to affect one crusader and not the other during the test.

Quick side-note: If you end up getting Veronica, the Android Archer, Pete the Carney, or Mr. Boggins, the Substitute Teacher, use crafting to make legendary gear out of their armgaurds (Veronica), chicken (Pete), and/or suspenders (Boggins), as each of these give utterly LUDICROUS DPS buffs. Boggins' works best when you've maxed out the "Passive Criticals" talent, but is still viciously overpowered regardless, while the other two work regardless of your talents. Getting these will ROCKET you forward, and they all get even more overpowered exponentially per level. Due to crafting costs and gear requirements, this will not be relevant to you for a fair while, but it is good to keep in mind.

Very good stuff guys... Thanks ^_^! Yeah I was kinda trying to take advantage of the difference in leveling cost between Metal S. and Emo. I also put some idols on the DPS for crit talent. I don't think I'll get any of those other Crusaders you listed any time soon, but I will try my best to leverage Metal Soldierette's dps as much as I can for the climb to 300. I was also thinking of buying something else with cash to get the Empowered Crusading buff again. I didn't know anything about it when I bought something on my second day, so I wasn't really able to take full advantage of it. I bought a 20 dollar chest pack the first time, is that the minimum pack I have to purchase to get the Crusading buff, or will any purchase award it?

You get 1 buff per purchase, $20 it is for the empowered crusading.

If you go to the options (3 chests, 7 chests, etc), click any of the options and a card will appear to the right of the chests telling you the buff you get for that tier. Unless it is different on mobile. Not sure. I play on PC. 3 chests is a 100% DPS buff for 1 day, 7 chests is a 200% DPS buff for 2 days, 16 is a 50% buff to idols earned on resets for 3 days, 42 is a 100% gold buff, and 64 triples the amount of rubies you get from daily quests. The idol buff is arguably the most useful, but it comes with two issues: 1) Do, not, buy, it, at, a, bad, time. If you're only making about 100 idols per reset, it will be wasted. Wait until you've begun getting much larger quantities per reset. The buff is percentage-based, so you'll want to make the most of that 50% while it lasts, which is best done when you're already getting a decent amount of idols as it is. Personally, I recommend waiting until you're averaging at LEAST 1000 idols per reset. Trust me, you're not too terribly far from that, especially after hitting area 300. 2) It is timed, so you'll proooobably want to be able to dedicate a fair majority of your time to the game to make sure no time is wasted. If you have anything at all resembling a social life, it may be difficult doggy-guarding the game. Every second your formation is not advancing would be time wasted for the buff, so it kind of demands your constant attention for the full duration (or as much of it as possible) of the effect.

Just to make sure this is clear, you do NOT get the buffs for every tier below the one you purchase. You only get the buff from the one you purchase. I don't know if you thought that or not, but I'd rather nip it in the bud early just in case.

Extra: What are the event crusaders you have so far? And if it is not too much trouble, what gear is on them? Just say "Soldeirette, R/E/R" if her gear is rare, epic, and rare from left to right. Common = C, Uncommon = U, Rare = R, Epic = E, Golden Epic = GE, Legendary = L, Golden Legendary = GL. Again, bud being nipped lol I'm asking to offer some other tips, if you'd like.

LOL. Yeah I think I should probably wait before I take advantage of another Empowered Crusading buff. Right now I reset whenever I get to around 20 idols as it is still slow going for me since I just started playing last week. After doing the math, with only a day and a half left to go on the Superhero Event, getting to 1500 idols and area 300 is still a titanic task for me at this point... but I'm still trucking. You guys have been a big help with this, but even if I apply all of the suggestions you guys gave me and pour a ton of time, it still feels like I'm not going to reach that goal.

Here is the Gear info:

Metal S.- R/GE/E

Bat Billionaire - R/R/R

Two things:

You don't have to finish before the event ends, as long as you launch that final event objective before the event ends it will run its course and give you the reward.

And even if you don't manage to unlock t2 before this event ends there is always a next time. Easter is just around the corner.

And don't just discount the basic crusaders as some are still better than their event benchmates. It all depends on the kind of theme around which you are trying to build your party. Which depends on what you have available to work with. Which is subject to perpetual change in CotLI...

Right. Like Snow said, as long as you start an event objective, that is all that matters. You won't get booted out of an objective when the event ends. You just won't be able to go back into another event objective after that, since the event would be over, but you'd still get the reward for completing that objective.

Just to back up what Snow said, I have about 1.5mil idols, and regularly get past area 1000, and yet even I still use some of the basic crusaders. Hell, Sal the Merman is my DPSer, and Gold Panda is a MUST on nearly any formation. Just something else to keep in mind. Even when you unlock event crusaders, that doesn't necessarily mean they are better than the basic crusaders in the same slot. Hence why I said to try out a bunch of formations to see what works for you with what you have.

As for your event crusaders, not really anything else I can suggest with that, other than what you're using already. I never use Bat Billionaire, but I also have a ton of crusaders, so you might find a use for him.

Right. I'm just trying to make sure I get enough idols to even start the event. 1500 is pretty steep for me right now, especially since I've been getting "retrying request, failed to contact server" errors for the past 2 hours. right now I have 717 idols and only 22 hours to get to 1500. I really wanted mostly superheroes on my squad, but that may not happen because of the time constraint. I just barely got past area 300 and still have to finish the tier 1 objectives (that last one is killing me with the idol requirement). Oh, and what is CotLI?

Sometimes the game does this. Everyone is unable to connect. Usually resolves itself within a few hours. At max, a day. I've learned to just accept it when it happens. Send a report to let the devs know, then just check in every few hours to see if it works again.

CotLI = Crusaders of the Lost Idols, the name of the game.
