Welcome to the game Irenicusss.

Most players do a reset on their first play through when they have 7,500 Crusader levels that will give them 15 Idols.

Daily quests for Rubies start showing up 20 hours after you join the game.

The mission system will unlock after your first reset, and there are occasionally Ruby missions in among those.

As well, you can choose new objectives to complete to gain Rubies.

When an event is going on, currency will accumulate over time, and if you have any time warps on hand, you can use those to gain more currency. It's best to reset off of Free Play or an objective to start the event objectives, but you can use the abandon function.
