Server Connection Issues Translating to Big Problems

The longer I play this game, the more frequently I see messages like "Retrying request", and "Failed to contact server". I wasn't to concerned about these messages at first, since they usually represent an insignificant delay, but today I noticed that they're causing a major problem. Whenever I log into Crusaders, I usually try to complete a mission. Almost without fail, the first mission I attept to complete pops up a "Retrying request" message. Usually the first mission was an EP mission, so after the "Retry" finished, I assumed the points had been recieved and moved on. Today, however, I attepted to finish a quest for a Jewelled chest. After waiting for the "Retrying Request" message to go away, it said "Success!" (the chance was 100%), yet there is no Jewelled chest in my chest screen. This leads me to believe that the temporary disconnect breaks the missions, and not only am I missing a Jewelled chest, but also several dozen EP. Please fix this. I've also had trouble soft-resetting a few times because of "Retrying Request".

Well, either my Jewelled chest showed up several minutes after completing the mission, or I happened to get a Jewelled chest off a boss in the meantime. Not sure what happened, so it would still be nice to figure out if a problem exists.

check you play history. it will tell you where the jeweled chest came from.

But I hear you. Especially when starting the game I am facing very similar issues. I don't know if they became worse, but at home I am struggling with a stable internet connection so the startup of the game, loading all the graphics especially leads to some really weird situations even without the missions screen.

The way I try to handle it at home is to wait for a while - at least until all the crusader's graphics are loaded - before I go into the missions screen to finish them up. Or at least wait until the first "saved" popped up. In the missions sreen, again make sure that no other loads are blocking the communication between you and the game's server. Again loading images might have the biggest impact here.

When I am having a good and stable internet connection, everything seems to work like a charm, though, so I would think this has to do with my connection, not the game until now.

A second answer to your post because this is a new situation for me, too. The Soft Reset seems to have a slight problem. It seems as if the crusader levels, money received and the active level is not reset at the moment when I reset the world with Kizlblyp. This happend to me and others in the past every once in a while, but I am facing quite a more extensive version of it, I'm afraid.

The effect: When I chose an objective after reset I get the message about Retrying Request and Failed to contact server and a few seconds later, it always tells me one is already active. When I reload the game I am in the middle of the objective I wanted, but not on level 1 but at the maximum level I was in, plus with the money I received so far and the old crusader levels.

Now, this is not too bad for me as a player, though. I can simply move the crusaders into formation without rebuying their levels and reset again. A gain of quite a few idols in my situation without the time spent to actually earn them.

The problem might be that this happened now five times in a row and this turned from lovey lucky to scary spooky.

Thought I should add this here, nevertheless :)

Hi Haftetavenscrap,

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues.

The retrying request pops-up when the game can't contact the server, due to either timing on the request or a temporary drop in internet connection.

Are you on wired or wireless internet?

I'm on wireless internet, but I use the same connection to play much more intensive games than Crusaders, with no problems. And like me and Andreas mentioned, it's more about the bugs that the delays cause, rather than the actual delays.

(I noticed another bug; crusaders on missions that didn't complete properly due to server issues give me a message "This crusader is on a mission and will return in 0 sec" even when they're back)

I have seen this, too a few times. I've never really stopped to find out whether the missions incentive is saved, though. Meaning, whether the EP/Chest/Idols were added. As far as I remember it never happened on buff-missions.

I think, what happened is simply that the success event might have been registered on the games' servers and was sent back. Also, the follow-up actions - adding the EP/Chest/etc. and the "release" of the crusaders - were sent from the games' server to your browser, but might have been "overtaken" by the success event or did not reach your browser at all. This way the game "thinks" everything is in order since the success feedback game back and lets you close the missions menu and pop up. However, the game did not get the memo to release your crusaders back to your bench.

When you hover over the crusaders now, it will tell you he/she/it is still on a mission, but a check on your active missions gives him back, there is none with this crusader so it lists the 0 seconds.

TL;DR: A games refresh usually helps me out, here. Or, if you have some patience, I also saw they "came back" after a while. If I recall right, after finishing one or more other missions, this usually sorts itself out. But I also might be wrong on that.

@ Haftetavenscrap: Have you tried moving closer to the wireless router or using an ethernet cable?

My laptop is about 50cm away from the router. Plugging in makes no noticable difference.
