some questions about the game

1) Is using the 'Storm Rider' ability a 'snapshot event' that multiplies the current DPS once, at the time it is enabled, and then has no effect until the next time it's used? Or does it multiply the DPS of all subsequent level-ups from that point forward by n% until the next time it's used?

Difference being; whether or not to wait and max all the crusaders levels as much as is reasonable before each time I use it. Versus using it as soon as it becomes available each time, because subsequent level-ups will still have the multiplier effect.

2) Are the contents of chests determined when they are acquired/purchased, or are their contents randomly determined at the time I open them?

Difference being; if the contents are randomly determined at the time I open them, I want to open a couple before opening multiple chests in order to 'test my luck' first. Otherwise, if the contents are already predetermined when acquired, it doesn't matter because the 'luck' already happened.

3) When I open multiple chests at once, they take a good deal of time to parse the cards onto the screen. Do they actually 'open' all at once, with the cards sorting onto the screen as a graphics effect, or does it really take all that time to individually open the chests?

Difference being; if opening the chests takes that long, my Magnify/Savage Strikes gold multiplier is likely to expire before they all finish opening, and it costs me gold. Otherwise, I would get the full effect of opening chests with the Magnify/Savage Strikes active.

4) When I have 'Progress on Area Complete' toggled on, and shut the game and idle it offline, should the crusaders continue to advance offline until they get defeated and set back an area?
My game does not advance in idle; when I come back they are still where I left them even though the 'progress' is still turned on.

storm rider lasts as long as your current mission, it's effect is for any crusader you use, you can change them at any time. use it as soon as you can and as often as you can. if you do not normally use thalia then at least put him for one second to use the effect. and use magnify alwats on storm rider

chests, silver ones, award gold that is based upon when you open them and what your dps is at that time. it is best to open them as high up as you can, or stockpile them for missions where you will need the gold. if you are at say area 400 and move back to area 1 the gold awarded should still be high cause your dps did not change when you move backwards. but if you open your chests when you are at area 1 and not gotten higher then area 1, i.e. immediately after a reset, the chests gold will be crap. p.s. if you remove all your crusaders and open some chests your gold can and will be 0.

unsure about 3.

when you close out the game (and don't ever simply go into sleep mode) your crusaders never move forward, they are wherever they were when the sale 'save' occurred immediately before you closed the game. the gold earned is based on the area and dps that you close the game in. 'auto advance' only advances on a game that you are running on your computer, when you close the game, it 'runs' on their servers and is very basic play, no auto advance...

#1 - I was doing it wrong, spending 10-20 minutes to max my levels between storm riders. The new talents 'Ride the Storm' and especially 'Storms Building' (reducing the cool-down time) is making this an increasingly significant talent.

#2 - I know the chests' gold content scales with DPS; what I meant was about yielding more Rare cards or not. Testing ones' luck before casino gaming is a fairly well-known gamblers' trick. This is probably a question that only the developers can answer, just thought it might have come up before.

#3 - This is another question that only the developers can answer, although it'll become moot after building up the Time-o-Rama talent.

#4 - Guess I miss-remember this, as having worked differently back when I first started playing last December. Anyway, thanks Raymond!

Testing ones luck is something that only people who don't understand probability do.

I appreciate your thoughts, and I understand probability (and the 'gamblers fallacy'.) I just play this game for fun. For me that's part of the fun :)

Maybe this is why it seems to work:
